Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Pictures of your new truck and wife.

While he is out of the country he gets a new truck and a new wife? Or did the 'new' only apply to the truck? ;~D

Well, it was a good thought. Compost can have an "earthy" aroma. A good compost pile doesn't have to smell bad, but it does take a bit of time to keep it balanced and cooking the right way. Our bin doesn't get as much use as it used to, we got a mulcher blade and seems to leave it where we cut it. The leaves from the trees completely overwhelmed it last fall, couldn't cut and catch enough grass to keep it balanced. sigh.

Same wife but she's gettin' prettier every day and isn't she just the perfect daughter-in-law, letting me borrow Steve's new truck to haul manure?

Ugh, my stomach's upset and I can't exercise.

OT, you had the Sasser worm the other day, right? You mentioned that the puter kept shutting down and wouldn 't boot?

Actually, my computer rebooted once. This was the computer at work and our Computer Guy put the patch for us on the network drive. When I get to work tomorrow I can email the patch to you if you like.

Got a HUGH package of chicken breasts. It was ten bucks, but it'll last me all week and part of next, even if I have it two meals a day. I'm going to freeze at least half. Also got cauliflower, lots of salad veggies, feta cheese to have with salads, and strawberries for a treat. And salmon - had salmon for dinner, along with steamed cauliflower that I put grated cheese on and broiled for a bit, and some sauteed spinach, peppers and onions.

The cauliflower was especially yummy. And easy...I'll have to make that more often.

Going to have strawberries with some sweetened sour cream in a bit. I'm still full, though...

I can't believe all the sacrifices one must make when on a diet. Why, I can't remember the last good meal I had....

Oh, yeah, dinner. Marinated chicken, loads of steamed brocoli, a little low-carb ice cream for dessert.

;-)

What was the chicken marinated in? I'm thinking of doing something gingery tomorrow, but tryin' to decide. Could even get it started in the morning so it has plenty of time to marinate.

Yah... s'pose so. Today was bathed in the hell that is known as SOX 404. Sorbanes-Oxley compliance. What an unbelievable waste of time and money this is.

I had to write up some stuff today, and I get this mental block when I'm doing something that I don't wanna do and percieve as a waste of time. I just sit and stare at the screen and blink at it.
