Well, it was a good thought. Compost can have an "earthy" aroma. A good compost pile doesn't have to smell bad, but it does take a bit of time to keep it balanced and cooking the right way. Our bin doesn't get as much use as it used to, we got a mulcher blade and seems to leave it where we cut it. The leaves from the trees completely overwhelmed it last fall, couldn't cut and catch enough grass to keep it balanced. sigh.
Yes it was an excellent thought. Just a bit too early. I hope to get a composter (right term?) built this summer. It's on thuh list.
