Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

kids are wanderin' in late, cuz she doesn't care... which is obvious by her lesson plans... she gave thekids a test over "The Count of Monte Cristo"... she had them read the Cliff's Notes, and the test was a group effort... I know most of these kids... they ain't lyin'... My deepest sympathies. I see those kind of things in hi skul here too - and have talked to the teachers themselves so know the kids ain't lyin. Kids come to me ignorrant - but only part of it is their fault. They don't learn much when they ain't taught.
One thing I found encouraging about Myranda, she weren't no scholarly student, but she did really like the teachers who pushed her. Those were the teachers most of the students hated. She liked 'em. Said they made the class interesting enough to pay attention. Somethin' to be said for that.

I kinda overdosed on the Cure--used to have a roommate who played them constantly, along with the Smiths and Concrete Blonde.

No, you can't anymore, which is what I was saying. Because it's licensed now. So the fans took it down. Which is why you can't get fansubs of the anime, either.

Mike Myers from Saturday Night Live is on a talk-show on Bravo now talking about Wayne's World and how it was based on his friends who used to listen to "Zep and Nuge and Rush--Rush is from Canada, too, you know. . ."--ROFL!

Want the worse news?
Rurouni Kenshin is a 28 volume manga. Volumes 1-4 are published. The next 24 will be coming out... every two months... for the next four years.
Grr. But it's lovely. At least Ranma and Fruits Basket should be done within two years. I'm not going to get hooked on any other long manga. Ha!

I can assure you she cares. But a whole pack o' students think she's a real b*tch these days. She ain't lettin' 'em get away with nothin'. Well. Let her know, there's some of the students that actually come away appreciating that. Myranda can't say enough good about her teachers that were like that. She sticks up for 'em continually when her friends talk about what b*tches they were. When she was visiting here a few weeks back.... that was the teachers she went to her old high school to visit. :-)

Well, the Japanese versions are out, yes, but I don't think you can get them here. It would probably be really expensive...
