Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I understand that. But I don't think we should avoid the news. We need to know what evil we face.
They are coming...

Seriously. I'm so enraged, I want to scream and break things. It is high time we take the gloves off and BREAK THEIR WILL. Bomb every mosque- five times a day. We must defeat them so completely that not even their sympathizers will think about taking up their fight.
Ever read Ender's Game? Very applicable to our current situation.

CAIR managed a tiny apologetic squeek. There was a thread on it earlier today.
I bet they had their fingers crossed the whole time, tho.

I thought I had a handle on this, but dear God in heaven, Glenn Beck just played the audio of the Nick Berg tape. I turned it off just before he played it. I have a very active imagination, so I didn't need to hear it to figure out what it must have sounded like. God Bless that poor young man.
Those savages need to have the fury of the US come down on them, and in a VERY public way. Maybe it will make some of the tag-a-longs think twice before doing this to another innocent person.
I heard a caller to a local show today say that we have to understand that this is a different culture and they deal with things in a different way. HORSE HOCKEY!! Nick Berg wasn't a soldier, or a CIA operative. He was just an idealistic young man who wanted to help modernize the parts of Iraq that hadn't been assisted by Sadaam's largesse. We don't need to 'understand' a culture that treats innocent people in such a manner! We just need to DEFEAT IT!

oh... new tagline...My b-i-l was talling me yesterday about a book he was reading that gave a history and explanation of Islam. He said it was a vewy intewesting read! It was written by a man who had converted to Christianity from Islam, and had to leave his country because of death threats from his 'fellow' Muslims. I can't remember the name of it, but I'll find out from him and let you know.

I know. I can know the news without inspecting the pictures. I have already made a determination as to who is evil from just the description. The pictures for me are overkill on my sensibilities. ;~D
I've got things to do... gonna muscle our desks back outside for another coat of paint today so I can put my computer back together.

The entire Judaeo Christian world would be going nuts if it had been us doing it.
Not just condemning it, but chasing down the animals.

"I heard a caller to a local show today say that we have to understand that this is a different culture and they deal with things in a different way." I'm gonna say the caller is correct about "different." Only thing is, understanding this "different culture and different way of dealing with things" lets us know that it is pure evil can't be allowed to stay around anymore.

That South Park was their season opener. The bungled translations in the song were hilarious too. "Let's fighting love!"

I got your "different way of dealing with things" in my closet, in a choice of calibers. You got that right! I'm sure there are plenty of soldiers in Iraq right now who are just sitting on ready. This must really gall them. It's bad enough if it were a fellow soldier, but Nick Berg was just an idealistic civilian. They may think he was naive to be there, but I'm sure they would LOVE to have a go at the savages who did this.
Our soldiers go into Iraq with faces bared, willing to be seen. Those savages didn't even have the courage to show us their faces! They realize, of course, that it would only make it easier for our guys to identify them, but something tells me that if any 'regular' Iraqis find out who was involved, they'll be willing to 'drop a dime' on them, in which case the lives of those animals won't be worth a plugged nickel.
