Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yesterday was the first time in ages for me. I'd been sick... then it was end of the semester... then graduation stress... and being on an anime kick doesn't help. But I forced myself to get started. I think finding "Last Samurai" hanging around was my reward for kicking myself into gear. I'm actually looking forward to tonight's repeat performance!

Sorry - you weren't mocking me - it's just I often say "Who's so-and-so" because I'm not very culturally literate, and certain people (read "Corin") like to tease me about that.

Hmm--don't think anyone has filled me in on this one--what's the story with Jen and "Who's X" moments? :) If'n yer gonna sleep thru the first five threads yer gonna miss a lot of mini-dramas.
Hey, that gives me an idea for a nickname for you: JenX :)
Sheesh! Get a room!

Yesterday was the first time in ages for me. I'd been sick... then it was end of the semester... then graduation stress... and being on an anime kick doesn't help. The anime kick actually helped me get back into it, because when I see Kenshin using his sword it makes me want to get back into my weapons training :) After one Kenshin viewing last week I stayed up 'til 4 am practicing my staff and sword techniques. Of course then I was too tired to do my regular workout the next day, but hey :)
I think finding "Last Samurai" hanging around was my reward for kicking myself into gear. I'm actually looking forward to tonight's repeat performance!
Cool! I'm supposed to do my aerobic routine tonight, too.

I was bein' polite...
Then again, I'd be just as out of place on a board full of normal twentysomethings. I'm very knowledgable about geek culture but not very informed about pop references.

I wasn't sleeping through the first five threads! I was off protecting the Shire while you Hobbits were eating six breakfasts a day and whatnot. You may not realize it but us Rangers protect y'all from horrible things out there in the world--Democrats and other agents of Sauron lurking just beyond the borders of the Shire.
