Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Uh oh, a Penitir instead of a Palantir.
"Saruman! I TOLD you NOT to forge my name on your checks anymore!" -Sauron through the Penitir.

/ sidetrack.

Looks like an idea.

You see my typing sometimes when I don't proofread it extremely carefully?
*LOL*
Sometimes it looks as if cats ran across the keyboard to create the sentence when I type.
So I understood what you typed.

Welcome.
It's a given that I cannot type worth spit.
(There are those who can type AND html their post quicker than I can type one sentence. I don't know how they do it.)

Do you know what "Shin" or "Shinta" means? I was going to look it up but I'm not sure how it'd be spelled in transliteration--Chinese and Japanese can be tricky to transliterate.

Kenshin's master must've been an incredible swordsman. What season/episode is he introduced in?

BTW I finished the Obiwaban (sp?) story over the weekend. I thought it was really neat how over the course of the story the Obiwaban became sympathetic, which reminded me of when you said the antagonists tend to be not purely evil in anime. Looks like the Obiwaban leader might come back for Kenshin in a later episode, though.

Brings to mind all kinds of odd situations that would have been hysterical in Lord of the Rings.
Like Saruman signing secret documents... and Sauron muttering and poking fun at him the whole time.

Maybe Sauron distributed a bunch of pens instead of a bunch of rings. . .

7 pens for the dwarf lords in their checkbooks of stone
9 pens for mortal men doomed to cry...
ONE pen to write them all and in the red ink bind them!
*ugh*

Oniwabanshu will be back in the second season. That's when Kenshin's master shows up, somewhere at the end of the first third of the second season or so.

Um, my uncool sister is suddenly demanding to watch Kenshin and stealing my Ranma manga. All I did was play my anime song cd for her... and go on about how lovely they are, and show her pictures from Kenshin, etcetera. Maybe I can make money off of this.

Oops, gotta do more family stuff - hopefully back before bedtime.
