Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

OK.
The Good Ol' Boys don't race on Mother's Day. I've got some pots so I can play with the plants during the Cubs game.

subbin' tuhday at the hi skool... freshman readin'... Shakespeare... its kewl tho'... I'm breakin' it down fer 'em... "yuh see, Mac wanted to be King, cuz thehagz planted that desire in his head... playin' on man's nat'ral lust fer power... so he gives theking a dirtnap, then starts icein' anybody he sees as a threat..." If all teachers explained Shakespeare that way, kids would just LOVE the stories!

Missed sayin' it yesterday...

Congratulations! You done made us proud. Since I'm old enough to be your dad (and I think older than your dad) I'll say this...If more of America's young people were as determined and as conscientious as you, this country would be in a lot better shape.
Best of luck with your future plans.

Thank you, Corin! I'm very proud that you'd say such a nice thing about me.
I'm not a very good person but I'm working harder at faking it these days. Graduating college makes me feel a bit more grown-up, like I might actually get to be a decent individual one of these years.

We'll have to get more.
At the moment we're studying the odd pen itself.
Mayhaps it'll be a key to global takeover.

Thanks Corin...
Up at the beach house where we are planting more flowers and Ramius is painting. Dad ran to the store to get more potting soil.

I am convinced one of these days JR is going to run a thread about me being a troll who comes on here just to make up sob stories about my family...
In tonite's category of "I am not making this crap up" Mrs. just took Nana to the ER. Seems Nana has had shortness of breath and a "funny feeling (not pain)" in her left shoulder/arm for the past two days. So we called the doctor who said, yes it could be her heart, but may not be anything to worry about.
We're thinking it's either:
1. Exhaustion. Last couple of days have been stressful with the trip to North Carolina for the funeral and all the associated stress/emotions. Uncle was buried a few hundred yards from Papa's burial site.
2. In reviewing her medication list (that she always needs to tell the ER) wife found out Nana was double dosing on something. She had one drug that she was taking. She was also taking the generic for the same thing. I don't know what it is, butfercryinoutloud...we thought when the doctor reduced all the medications she could handle them. We wuz wrong.
3. Of course it could be her heart. All the profiles fit. So we'll have to see.
So wife's Mother's Day has been kinda crappy. She's feeling the pressure of having to return research papers tomorrow and to have a study guide for finals which are Tuesday. So she took stuff to work on.
I did change one thing. My Mom is driving thru tomorrow on her way to see her sister in Virginia Beach. She was going to stay here tomorrow night and at my brother's (on the other side of Richmond) Thursday night. But I suggested she reverse that. And it works for her since my brother is leaving town on business early Friday a.m.
I'm here trying to do web stuff (I've "sold" an Elvis clock!) and waiting to go pick up Jr. from choir practice (he's there until 9:00). I'll just put Luke in his PJs and hope and pray he falls asleep in the car. Happens rarely tho.

Said a prayer for Nana. Let us know how that's going.

Well, like I always say, the pen is mightier than the sword! :) On the other hand, that might explain why I always lost at fencing. . .As for global takeover, I understand Jen already has nefarious plans in that department, so if you can supply the pens that sounds feasible. On that note I vote for the organization adopting the acronym BIC: Brethren in Conquest--which technically I guess should be Brethren and Sistren in Conquest, only then it would be "BSIC".
To: Fedora; JenB
BSIC, an LLC company and an EOE.
"We're plotting about you, all the time."
*Chuckle*
Even have the company slogan written.
