..This building - basically a light steel shed used to store nuclear waste - contained up to 20 kilograms of fissile material, enough to make several nuclear weapons (see "LANL shuts down amid terrorist acts on East Coast," The New Mexican, 9/12/01).

This plutonium was within about 200 feet of the Cerro Grande fire. While the material was not in direct danger, due to the lack of vegetation in the immediate area, its presence at this location was contrary to repeated LANL public pronouncements at the time. DOE safety officials apparently either did not know the material was there, or understand just how much plutonium was at risk.

There seems to be an open question as to whether these 3HO guys are actually Sikhs.

As the original poster said, perhaps they are as related to Sikhs as Moonies are to Christians.

Which would, I suppose, validate your point to the extent that their Sikh-ness (however much they have warped it) does tend to push them in the direction of self-defense.

However, just a brief glance at the history of this "Yogi Bhajan" fellow and the discussion forum about the charges against him, does indicate (if true) that he's a loony cult leader and nothing but.

Which makes 3HO not exactly the kind of organization you want running security at national labs.

(Of course, as per Post #17 perhaps that's not the case in the first place.)

I will say they make pretty damn good breakfast cereal, however :-)
