We are a country of good people, and I consider myself one of them.
It's the ones that aren't good that I'm worried about. I don't consider them fools, I consider them dangerous.
I also don't consider myself a blind follower. You don't have to be, to be a good American.
Now I am going to a nice family cookout, and try to relieve my mind of all it's doubts for a day at least.
I think the funeral of Ronald Reagan brought me back to a time of our good will and innocence. I really don't think it's like that anymore, and it makes me sad.
We are and you are, gran. I hope your day is filled with goodness.
I'm glad you have a nice day for a cook out. It has rained every week end since our first camping trip. When they call for 'strong storms' we stay home. So, I decided to go to Camp Driveway this weekend. We can always run in the house in case of a really bad storm or tornado. But, wouldn't you know it...it is already pouring.
Happy anaverasry CG and Ozzie...
Yes you are Gran ..
It's the ones that aren't good that I'm worried about. I don't consider them fools, I consider them dangerous
There are always bad seeds .. but there are way more good ones and those seeds have been planted and will continue to grow .. I have no doubt in that
President Reagan's daughter Patti said some beautiful words yesterday and told a story of a fire and how her father brought her to see the new shots growing up from the embers
We still have some rocky roads ahead of us .. but we will be ok .. because we keep growing
Enjoy your day Gran and have fun at your gathering .. I have to attend a Grad Party myself .. but I have such a bad head cold that I'm thinking of just sending Mike with the girls
Libby I listened to Michael Reagan give a tribute last night. It was wonderful, he sure is the real thing. Then there was the daughter Patti and then son Ron Jr. But in the morning yesterday, David and I were actually late for work because we were watching the funeral and then when the Eulogies began we were both sitting on the end of the bed bawling. It was really wonderful. Ronald Reagan was such a wonderful and decent man. Even Dan Rather, who always has to get his leftist jab of some sort in, well his remark, whatever it was, don't remember, don't care, it was hollow and worth nothing. I can't get over President Reagan's sense of timing. He even had to die right before the Election. The poor old Democrats are now faced with a real uprising of Reagan style patriotism and Conservatism. All in all it was beautiful. I must say that Nancy Reagan broke me up also. She looked so little and frail. I wonder how long she'll last without him? Anway, gotto go, looking after the two grandsons last night and until about noon today. One wants to play Poppit!!
If I recall .. they did the same to President Reagan back in the 80's
Called him a dumb cowboy also
He stood tall and he was right
President Bush is not Ronald Reagan .. for no one can replace him
But I do think President Reagan would be proud of the work President Bush is doing.
I wouldn't be a bit surprised to discover that he and God negotiated that very thing. Hehehehe.... What a great man, and great president!
"She looked so little and frail. I wonder how long she'll last without him?"
I was thinking the same thing. What a courageous and incredible woman.
NEVER forget these words from one of our greatest:
"Dissention is the highest form of patriotism." ~ Thomas Jefferson.
A great Saturday to one and all wandering through the Doorway.
Grannie keep the faith, If all we good people do our part those of evil intent have no power.
Evil can only succeed when we as a people fail to do/honor our part!
Have a joyful heart an a up lifting day is yours!
Remember all the good things that that generation

Count your blesing instead of sheep
You have nothing to fear but fear itself.

I feel so sorry for Nancy today. It is all over now. Oh, maybe her family will be with her for a few days, but when they leave...it will finally hit her hardest.
Your tagline WASP
Reminds me it was the 70's that the drums of hate was started, beating against the "White Anglo Saxon!"
Yeah, I need a new tag: WASP was a reply to an insect thread elsewhere here; not that I'm not a W.A.S.P., mind you.
How about B.L.O.A.T. (Buy Lot's Of Ammo Today)?
Come'on, Lot's = Lots
