It's good to see you too Gran. Where are you? WHich State? :)
I was just over looking at some of the photos of the FReepers meeting with the Robinsons on their tour. Such a KEWL thing.
I'll meet Jim Robinson tonight and post a bunch of pics later.
I imagine she rides side saddle.
I'm in NH now for the summer Ringy. We'll go back the first of Nov I suppose.
Did you hear that I'm going to be a Grannie again, lol? Number 11 of ours, and 13 with others added.. ;)
Yep.. next step.. sit her on her horse.. Not as easy as it sounds.. lol.
Thanks Val. I'll look forward to that. :)
No, I didn't know. Sincere congratulations.
Vermont for the Summer! How busy you must be. You take care of you and have much, much fun.
Ahhh.. the Darkside will influence more and more..
How sad. Ray Charles died today.
I heard Ray Charles in concert in Portland five years ago. He was magnificent. When he sang America the Beautiful the entire "diverse" audience was moved and unified. I hope they play it at Reagan's funeral tomorrow.
I loved the quote that Dick Cheney used yesterday of Pres. Reagan's. "You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give." I may print that up and put it on the wall in my office.
Excellent musician, hadn't heard that he'd died.
A ham is the rear leg of a pig.
Unless you need a 15 to 30 pound chunk of meat, you usually buy either a 'butt' half or a 'shank' half, with the shank half being the lower part.
The shoulder and picnic ham are from the front leg with the 'picnic ham' piece being the shank.
I think the shank portions look better, and they are usually the only ones sold with skin attached, but the meat all ends up about the same when shredded.
The skin serves as a trivet to protect the cut end and provides the gelatin that makes the juices so succulent.

Some say you need to think positive thoughts to get well, but I think dirty thoughts will work better.

Well, if that works, then I expect you are always feeling hale and hearty. *L*
Ray Charles was 20 years younger than Ronald Reagan. He is my dad's generation.
Erk.
Weird, but not completely unexpected.
Ok.. that's what we got.. Two Shanks of fresh Pork.. Sighhhhhhh.. glad that's over.. Oh and they are trimmed of the lower shank bone and will lay flat on their skin.. Neat!!!
Thanks Swerv. I figured I was ok.. ;)
That reminded me so much of how it was when Reagan was elected. The people loved him then and still do. That was the one time in my life that I felt that all was right with the world and it was largely because of President Reagan. He was truly the greatest president of my lifetime.
