Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner we may meet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Psychotic cat woke me up.
My nose still bears indents from fangs.
Rotten critter, she wanted to play and I wasn't awake when the CAT wanted me up.
*argh..*

Life with cats, an adventure in itself.

Don't you know that you're supposed to do what the cat wants, when the cat wants it?

True, they dop think they're in charge.
I still once in awhile theorise that cats really are aliens sent to spy on and conquer us.
You should see the look I get from my sister's cat when I say such.
It's hysterical.

Yeah I can understand that. The squirrels are the spying aliens.

You always take the chance of being "had" when dealing with anononimity....

Tis sadly true, but it sounds like, either way, the guy needs prayer, either for his grief, or his heartlessness.

Squirrels.
*shudder*
We have three colors of squirrel here, and two of them are insane.
One will commit suicide on the nose of your car.
The other will screech at you and toss things at you.
The last?
They sit at the side of the road as if they're watching everything else and commenting on it.
If they had little straw hats on and little glasses of lemonade it'd be perfect.

Yeah, pretty much. Mina has to rescue them!

LOL! You know, there was also a radio adaptation of Dracula in the 1930s (with Orson Welles playing Dracula) where they also changed the story so that Mina ended up being the one who killed Dracula. I guess it was a popular thing to do! :)

So what other old horror movies you got? I feel obligated to watch some this weekend now :) Usually on Friday nights AMC has some on. Tonight they've got a good one called The Innocents on.

LOL! Fortunately my cat was pretty good about not biting me while I was sleeping; just psychotic in other ways :) But he wasn't declawed, and he liked to sleep near the head of my bed, which would sometimes result in me having dreams about tiny birds with needle-noses poking my skin :) Then one time I had a dream he caught a mouse and brought it home to me (because he thought I was his dad) so we could make it into a salad for supper--ROFL!

On the Bogdan thread, in my online experience I've gotten a number of chain-mail prayer requests I suspected were fabricated, but I always give them the benefit of the doubt and pray for them anyway--I figure God will sort it out :) If I think they're fake I don't pass them on, though.

My dear cat doesn't go outside, she's afraid of birds, and she's the second cat I've run into taht will wake me up by nipping my nose.
The first one was my wife's previous cat "Zepplin".
He was a one eyed grey cat with a decidedly aristocratic air to him.
Imagine, a cat that put on airs of aristocracy -even for a cat!
But I was over at her place, we were dating at the time, and i was asleep.
He decided that I should be awake NOW, and decided to lightly nip the end of my nose.
He also made sure he was sitting on BOTH of my arms so that I couldn't move them.
That way he could nip the end of my nose at leisure.

Years pass, and I get my 24 pound Holstein cat.
She decides to sit on my chest while pinning my arms and prceeds to do the same thing that Zepplin did years before.
leisurly 'dine' on the end of my schnozz.
What made it worse was that the missus decided she wanted to try to get a photo of it.

I experienced more fakes on the pets forum than here... I think there is a higher-order specialty about FR and politics that keeps us under the radar of the typical kid or prankster looking for entertainment.

But we got them there... People really learning how to argue and behave on the internet. People who in an argument about pit bulls, would join in and always have a testamonial about how a pit had saved their child from a burning building or an axe-murderer or something. They were usually people we had never seen around before.

The hoax about the woman and her baby trapped in the bedroom by their dog caught us off guard, even though we were wise to fakes, because she stayed around regularly for a long time, and though she was a little flaky, she seemed kind and predictable from day to day, till the last day.

Yeah I can understand that. The squirrels are the spying aliens.

So true--it's obvious from the way they did through garbage cans looking for personal information. But who do they work for? That's what I've been trying to figure out. There were evil squirrels in Mirkwood, you know. . .
