Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

"To boldly go where no song has gone before. . ." :) What would be really scary would be if it became a Top 10 hit in Japan :)
Khan just launched the Genesis wave--uh-oh. . .

We have a spectacular light show goin on right now, courtesy of God.
Elf-boy fell asleep in the recliner. PE and I are thinking he can stay there for now. He looks too peaceful to move to his bed.

I'm seeing all kinds of that light show looking out the window on the east side of my den right now too. Pretty awesome huh?
I think when a kid goes to sleep peacefully it is often wise to just leave 'em there! Or you may be up even later than planned! :-)

Right, so I'm actually Superman, but my clever disguise of wearing glasses fools my friends and coworkers.

Hmmm--whenever Clark Kent disappears, Jen B appears. . .
As long as I can distract her talking about Superman--she still hasn't figured out I'm Peter Parker. . .

What a freaky thing! The first thing I felt when I heard about this was outrage that a 13 yr old, much less a 3 yr old would have unsupervised access to a loaded pistol, then it was pity for the granny who prolly feels responsible for it all. Now, I am just thankful that I am not the mother coming home to find my older son in custody for killing my younger son. Am I a bad person for feeling this way?
My prayers go out to this family and loved ones. I know God does not deal to us that which we cannot handle, but I am afraid I would lose my sanity if it were me.

It'd be a lot for anyone to deal with. Lots of conflicting, strong emotions. Some things like that you just have to resign yourself to prayer and there's not much else you can do.

Not Spidey? Just Peter?

Not at all... unlike some others, I'm perfectly OK with an understanding that there are really bad mistakes that people can make from time to time, with no malice aforethought. Sometimes those mistakes have super-tragic consequences. It doesn't automatically mean that some punishment is necessary or useful.

What's that about Spidey? Oh, look--there he goes out the window, you just missed him! [Tucks red "handerchief" quickly into pocket.]
Whew! Spider-sense was tingling there for a minute. Have to be more careful from now on. . .distract her. . .
So, um, you say you're Superman! How's ole Lex Luthor doing? Kryptonite still bugging you. . .?
