Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well goodnight sweetheart!
Thanks for massaging my granny ego. It's kinda fun having little people who think you're the best thing since chocolate pie! :-)
Dream good dreams. :-)

I didn't say that you had anything bad to say about what I had to say about what you had to say about what I had to say.
Dell support is among the best on the planet. Dell parts, on the other hand, all seem to be stocked on another planet, like Mars. Shipping, then, is a really big problem, since there is no Fedex office on Mars. Yet.

But all my dreams of late involve upgrades on a per-seat license... and it's really starting to tick me off.
:-) Nite nite.

<laughing> Don't get me started on what I should be telling Dell customers!
Had an idiot today ... he buys four computers, all at once. They arrive, all at once. Without opening the boxes, he sends one computer --- what he assumes is one computer --- off to Ditty-Wha-Ditty, where it sits. The idiot then hires some genius at $135 an hour to put the other three computers together at his location.
Genius puts two of the systems together just fine, and "installs" the pre-installed software. Genius gets to the third system, and realizes he only has two copies of Office 2003. So idiot calls me.
I tell him to look through all the boxes. "But one box is in Ditty-Wha-Ditty!"
"Is there someone in Ditty-Wha-Ditty who can look through the box and see if there's an Office CD in it?" Until then, I did not realize that rooting through a box required qualifications. "I'll wait," I add encouragingly.
Long pause until he comes back to the phone. "The only person in Ditty-Wha-Ditty who can look is at lunch."
OoooooKAY! "Well," I sigh, "after you look through all the packaging, if you don't find the CD, call us back and we'll send you one."
"What about this machine?"
"Excuse me?"
"What is the Lazy E going to do to compensate me! Because of YOUR mistake, I've got my $135-an-hour tech standing here twiddling his thumbs!"
Some days, I don't like my customers much ...

BWAAHAHAHAHA!!! And everyone I've ever talked to with Dell is so nice! I hate it that people behave that way to nice people! Need to be slapped! :-)
When doofus calls you back, tell him that Ramius said all his computer problems would be solved if he would put a badger or wolverine in each case! That oughtta be a good payback for him being nasty to you! :-)
Or, call me, I'll go give him what-for on your behalf - unbeknownst to Dell! hehehe

Morning! Hope all is well with you and yours. I remain completely overwhelmed at work. No time for freeping or being mildly sociable. *alas*

May is a good month to be born. In fact I made my mother wait a week so that I could be born in May... Margaret made Mom wait almost TWO weeks...I think her original due date was April 22nd or 24th...and she was born May 5th.
Is yours the first? I knew the answer to this once upon a time...

What kinda genius needs an expensive outside tech to plug in a computer? Hm...especially since they come pre-loaded.
That's just a mind-boggling story. Wow.

Good morning! Another gorgeous day out there, though still not very warm. Supposed to get up to around fifty today, but in any case the sun is out and there's very little snow again! Even a few spots of green here and there...as I said before, I think we must have different varieties of grass up this way, because it starts growing before the snow is even gone...or at least peeps out, even if there isn't much of it.

Yeah, my birthday's the first. I'm looking forward to finally being out of limbo and officially recognized as an adult by everyone.
Raining here. My little car went to the shop. Now I just sit here until time to go home. We have an evening service tonight and the choir's going to sing.

Our service should be good. I have a nice dark outfit on, so I shouldn't have to wear a dress. We're singing "Oh Sacred Head Now Wounded" in the choir. It sounds really good.
