Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

could not go, but it looks like it was vey awesome. We used to go to events like this all the time with my dad. He had some friends who were members of CAF. I have never been to this one in Burnet.

How about giving the cartoons to your youngest sibling, time to grow up young FReeper.Nope, my sister ain't getting my South Park, Simpsons, and Bugs Bunny collections. And personally, I think growing up is overrated.
To: HairOfTheDog
Can somebody other than my sister post that picture, so I can make the desperately needed comment: "Nice Rack".
Crap. Nevermind.

I am sorry to hear that your day was one of those not-so-good types. :-(
I had such a nice day I was hoping everyone else would too. It was just one of those perfect spring days here. Temps in the 80's, sunshine, not much work to do but got a lot of stuff done around here that needed doing. Wish yours was that good. :-)
Of course I *would* scratch your back if I could reach it. :-D

My absolute favorite thing is the "mock danish"...supposedly it's supposed to look like a danish...mine always just looks ugly as sin, but it is so delicious and really gets me going in the morning!
Mix together in a bowl:
1 large egg
1oz cream cheese
a dash of vanilla
a packet of splenda.
It'll be real lumpy...I use a room temp egg and room temp cream cheese that I leave on the counter over night,
Nuke it for 1 and half minutes.
I think you're suppose to let it cool...I never do. I just gobble it up right then.
A variation:
1 egg
1 oz cream cheese
some bacon crumbs
some cheddar cheese
mix all together, nuke for about 30 seconds, stir, then nuke another minute.
Mmmmm!
Perfect for induction...does S. Beach have an induction? Atkins does.
I'm making braised beef and sauteed spinach for our lunch tomorrow...

And personally, I think growing up is overrated.Buddy you sure got that right! Now that I've raised my kids and don't have stuff to worry about responsibility I have decided it is time to regress! :-)

elf/spider/boy is sleepin with the pup again. I hafta say he is such a turkey, but at least he is (for the most part) an honest one.
He told me that he dunked his hand in beardog's water on the backporch to get the sand off from his sandbox. sheesh! I cannot remember how many times I have told him to keep his wrist clean and dry. Plus it is way past bedtime, and he was trying to stay up even later, by telling me this new information.
He is asleep now, with clean and dry bandages on his wrist.
He just doesn't *know* how to lie very well yet. That's a good thing!
