Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Evening Fedora... anything to show me?
Ok, I get some massive good sister/good daughter points. Got home from work and Dad's car had broken down. He was off waiting for it to get towed. So, knowing he'd be in no mood to deal with the brothers, I took all four of them to Borders and for ice cream. Just got back.
I'm going to clean up (I lifted before fleeing with the boys) and I'll be back.

I hereby award you a gold star for your good sister/daughter points! :)
I drew out the layout and I'm working on one of the panels right now. For what I have in mind I need to draw a hand tapping someone on the shoulder from behind, so I need a good picture of a hand in that position, which is what I'm looking for online right now. If you wanna help me look I could use help!

That's a pretty sweet ride you got there, army. :-)
Looks like it would be good in traffic.

I don't see the problem. Looks like a fair point for ecurbh.

Howdy! How's the Wild Turkey coming tonight?
To: Fedora
Huh. Most hand drawing tutorials seem to be of fists. Wonder why that would be? :-)

Thanks. I'm kinda figuring it out, but drawing hands when they're pointing towards you is one thing I always struggle with 'cause of the perspective foreshortening thing. I think I need to get this book:
Burne Hogarth, Drawing Dynamic Hands
To: Fedora
Oooh, perspective. That's an advanced technique!

I guess 'cause superheroes like to punch stuff :) But this is the panel that's setting up the punch in the next panel, so I can't have a fist in this panel. What's driving me nuts is I know I've got a comic around here with a good picture in it, I just can't find it.

Okay, I think I'm getting it: the fingertip is a small circle, the first and second knuckles are big circles, then you draw cylinders connecting the circles. But getting the right angle is what's hanging me up. A picture would make it so much easier--hard to draw and point your hand at yourself at the same time :)
To: Ramius
LOL! I'll probably have a Guinness later myself.
To: JenB
Yep, the circles are the key. To change the angle of the finger, you change the alignment of the three circles. Change the size of the circles to change the sense of distance. By George, I think I've got it. . . [launches into song from My Fair Lady]

Evening folks; back in the First Age, when wheel guns were the rule not the exception, the PD provided ammunition for the .38, anything else you wanted to carry, you provided the ammunition for qual practice and carry. But wasn't all bad, +P HPs. Most were SW fans, a few Colts and Rugers.

Evening, are you refering to 'smitted'? (I think that's what it says) he remarked squintingly.
