Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Check
this out. I think I need to obtain a number of copies of
Stranglehold to send with my troop support packages. Matter of fact, I think if I were fighting in Iraq, Ted might be just the guy I wanted to listen to! LOL

I cancelled Netflix about three weeks ago. Just don't have the time to watch that many movies.

We were just talking about whether there will continue to be a steady enough stream of stuff we want to watch once we get through our top choices in the queue!

Plus an office worker and I had noticed that once you're on the list longer, you get less preferential treatment. IOW, you may have to wait longer for new releases than someone who just signed up. I dunno. But I had over 100 movies on the list, and I wasn't getting to any of them.
I see you...

We hadn't noticed any lag time like we weren't getting first choice in movies any more, but we haven't been going after really popular new releases either.... we've been catching up on old things, like "To Kill a Mocking Bird" and other miscellany like some horse info DVDs and South Park/Simpson season disks.

What's the gun law like in Washington?
Last hogleg I bought in TX, took 2 hours for the bg check and I didn't have to register it.
Would have had to jump a couple hoops to carry, though...

Co-worker had put "Lost in Translation" on her list and was told "long wait." She read an article critical of Netflix and had another co-worker sign up to try it. The day she signed up they told her "Lost in Translation" was available immediately.
So I tried it on my list and got "long wait."
I dunno if that's a real problem or just a fluke. Bottom line for me was that I just don't have the time to make it worthwhile.

We haven't had any problems other than not watching the movies! LOL! We'll probably hang on to it though, cause the older boys will be home during the summer, and we may want to watch movies and veg when we're finished with the construction work each day.

It is the carry law that I was speaking of. Texas has that certification process with licensed instructors that Washington doesn't have. We just have to pay the money and pass the background check. There is no training requirement.
It isn't that I support people carrying weapons they aren't good with.... I can't fault the idea of training, who could? It is just that to me, requiring training assumes a problem that doesn't exist. We don't have accidental shootings in malls because people don't know how to shoot. People who carry concealed weapons feel that responsibility the minute they pull their jacket over it and pick up the car keys to go out. Most know their weapons and train because they took their defense seriously enough to want to be armed. They learn to shoot because it is of the utmost interest to them to be good. I can see how training gets in the regulation, but it is a feel-good requirement that is just another tax collected as a fee and probably doesn't do much to actually make a citizen safer with their gun in public than they would have been without it.

I gotta meet with the trolls in about 30 minutes. I hate meeting with the trolls. I'd rather have a root canal (and yes, I've had one)

It is the carry law that I was speaking of. Yeah, that's it. Here to carry you have to have the training class to get the license. I have not done that. I don't remember when this law went into effect but I think it was maybe in the neighborhood of 10 years ago. I carried anyway through maybe the first 5 years of it. Now I am more hesitant because they enforce it more than they did at first.
It is offensive to me. That was the reason I never took the training class to get the license. I have been planning to finally go take the class for about a year now but just haven't gotten one of those "round tuits." Yes, there are times when if stopped I would prolly be hauled off to jail.... but, still that thing irks me!

Yes sir! Ready and excited! Motorcycle ministry season is beginning for me tomorrow. Harley drags which will be attended by lots of our target population. I am getting ready now to get on the screamin' eagle and get on the road later this afternoon!
And God is good! The weather is great for 500 miles on the highway in the next 36 hours! :-)
Sometimes I wonder what I did so right that caused God to call me to a ministry that is so fun! :-)
