Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

What if you drove out there, swinging by PA on your way... can you say roadtrip? Long drive, though.

Does busking involve beckoning passers-by from streetcorners?Busking is the practice of performing in public places to receive donations of money.
The performance is often musical but juggling, comedy or magic are also displayed.

Ummm...yay.
I volunteer to stand inside and watch at the window if that has to be done...
We don't have poisonous snakes up thisaway. There are some benefits to frigid climates.

Somebody's gotta do it!
I think I'm about to give up on fitday. I've been religiously tracking everything I put in my mouth, even exaggerating quantities a bit, and according to it I should be losing weight like crazy. I have it set at the lowest activity level (bed ridden), and I'm not even hitting THAT calorie intake, not by quite a bit. And putting everything into fitday is a pain in the rear!
But this morning I was back up to the same ol' weight. Tomorrow's the actual weigh-in day, but I peeked anyway.
Maybe if I drink more water...?
I'm not ready to give up caffeine. Huh-uh. Ain't gonna happen.
Maybe walking will help. I'm gonna start to walk every day when it isn't pouring, hopefully with some running mixed in.

OT: not only does it taste like chicken, the skin can be tanned for hat bands or air dried and used on bow backs. There are a several species of rattlesnake as well as cotton mouths, depending on the particular area of the ozarks.
But, as we know, most snakes are beneficial creatures that appreciate being left alone. Around residences, though, their presence should be discouraged.

I wouldn't mind TASTING it after it was dead and cooked...but I still don't wanna be part of the killing crew...

I just don't like those poisonous snakes. I've got no problem with black snakes or green snakes hanging around.
To: RosieCotton
We could call it "Shoot Moot".
To: Overtaxed
Heh...I imagine there are quite a few who would like that title!

I have to admit, the buzzing does get your attention real quick, but locating them, generally allows you to move away. But note the 'generally', it just always doesn't work that way. Much as we would prefer it too.
Well, we're off, Gypsy believes that a walk is order, and I believe it would be benificial for us as well.

I'm rooting for you! I don't really know anything about fitness, so I can't advise you, but I'd guess the exercise can't hurt, at least. Now that you have your road, walking every day should be possible, right?

Good evening! I'm home, I'm fed, I'm getting settled in for a nice evening of nothing. Guess I know why people don't read much. It can be as exhausting as work.
