Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well... having not been a geek in high school in the seventies, but merely seeing how much geeks have taken over the world in the nineties... I can see why you might think so.
It was, however, no particular fun to be a computer geek (or any other kind) in the seventies. That we have since taken over the world is simply some sweet irony. That we now pay more in taxes than our erstwhile but now manual laborer oppressors make in two years... is just icing on the cake.
Sometimes it takes time for justice to be done.

Cheers...
Seems to me that the kill box in Fallujah has so far been reasonably effective. The bad guys seem intent on running headlong into it. I would say... let 'em.
It's certainly easier than hunting them down in onesies and twosies for the next several months...

They didn't hush me, they just didn't encourage me the few times I spoke up. They are the experts, after all ;~DOh gees. That could get tedious! But, it is work, and work that should be a snap if you can remember to keep your mouth shut. That of course, will be the challenge! LOL

Major General Mattis had 1st Mar Div (-) Reinforced in country six days when they kicked the hornets nest and killed what came out...
the Marines and MajGen Mattis were chosen to pacify the Fallujah region (which had been allowed to fester) because CENTCOM needed somebody to kick in the door and kill bad guys... we're good at that...

Evidently there is a big underground market for fifth grade test answers!Oh dear! LOL.....
My students try to get test answers from former students... they just don't count on having an instructor who is always changing tests because of her own indecisiveness or instability! LOL

Congratulations on discovering the new road! Meanwhile today I tried biking to the library down the road for the first time. It's about a mile which includes a big hill, and the bike is too short for me which makes it harder to pedal, so it was a workout!
To: Wneighbor
Yeah - but this is fifth grade! I mean.... careers are not made or lost by good fifth-grade acheivement test scores.

All we learned there was blackjack odds. I'm not kidding. Every day we passed out decks of cards and we played blackjack. there were no quizzes and no tests, and no homework. So, where do you suppose I would sign up to teach *that* class? I could do that! :-)

We never did get the Rail Gun to work just right. But we got DARN close. We just didn't have the budget to do it right.Darksheare and I were just discussing this on another thread last week :)
