Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Good morning! and thanks!... These birthdays seem more and more like something to be ignored the more of them I have!
Gidget would wave back, but she is afraid if she takes her eyes off ecurbh frying the bacon, he will give it to the cat.

OT: those are actually 'surprise lilies', the flower stalks don't come up till August around here. Not much happens till then, and then they'll shoot up in a couple of days and bloom.
Hope the beaver-varmints stay clear of your cherry tree.

no evil shall escape my sight,
let those who worship evil's might
beware the power of Green Lantern's light."
Which is the way I remember it, kinda funny how some things stay with you.

LOL, absolutely true, we haven't had any birthdays for years. 'Cept AARP remembered and sent us a membership form. Sigh.

Happy Birthday HairoftheDog
You have been a dear and faithful friend to me through very trying times. Dear to my heart for listening to all my troubles and yet even more precious for sharing the joy you have found in your life.

Happy Easter to everyone in the HH and Happy Birthday Hair! Another amazing gorgeous day up here -- 79 degrees today. Having my Mom over for Easter dinner (which means I get some cleaning chores this morning). Are you guys going to the beach house today? (I can't imagine a finer day for it).
