Anyone can publish a book of poetry. Or a book on any subject.
The trick is to either make money, or make a point. I've been thinking that a selection of my poems that showed a progression toward a particular theme or philosophy would require introductory and explanatory notes in order to reach that destination.
A collaboration for illustrations to help make the points, or highlight the philosophy would help the project, and sounds like a lot of fun.
I have a vivid imagination, but I can barely draw water. Any attempt I made to illustrate a book about anything would be a horrendous disaster. I surely could use help.
I don't think drawings alone would do the trick, though. Selected photographs, either staged or fabricated in some manner might be what is required.
I'm still in the process of creating the assortment of poems to select from, and I feel very creative. I could probably tailor my writing to fit a particular theme. Right now, it's more like "lawn dart" poetry, but some folks get my points.
That's a GREAT idea! Maybe you could do some illustrations and post them here so we can enjoy your work - until the book is published. :)
