Denver Synagogue Vandalized(Passion of Christ Blamed)

DENVER - A Denver synagogue was damaged with graffiti overnight. Swastikas were drawn on the synagogue on south Monaco Parkway.

The graffiti was in the doorway and across a sign. There were also several symbols drawn on the back wall of the building.

A holocaust survivor who saw the graffiti says it was almost too much to take. There was no official response available from the congregation Saturday, although several people who called 9NEWS to report the damage said that they blamed Mel Gibson’s movie “The Passion of the Christ” for rekindling anti-Semitism.

Members of the congregation will gather Sunday morning to start cleaning off the graffiti.

I agree, no point in argueing whether it was a false hate crime, there's nothing to base the accusation on. These things happen, imo all that's different here is a new angle for the press. A month ago you'd be reading about it in the police blotter of the local paper, if at all.

There is, at present, no evidence as to who did it, or what his/her/their motives were. It might have been an anti-Semite (whether Christian, Muslim, atheist, or Hindu). It might have been a Leftist wanting to pin the blame on Christians. No scenario is automaticly excluded

Yep, we should not jump to any conclusions. On a brighter note, Hundreds of people turned out Sunday morning at a Denver synagogue to help clean off racist graffiti and show their support for the congregation. ... Rabbi Daniel Cohen said he was overwhelmed by the number of people and the diversity of faiths that came out to help.

It's a crowd in Jerusalem almost 2000 years ago. Except for the Romans, everyone there from Jesus,

Yup. I swear to God, that is exactly what I saw when Satan walked through that crowd. He was in public. He is around all of us.
My second thought, was "why is he holding a demonic baby?"

I know one survivor, who is in his late 60's, I think. He was a small child while he was in the camps. He still has the number tatoo. It's huge, on his arm.

Now here is an interesting fact about this man. Just goes to show you people can't be judged by even all their life experiences.....

A very common culprit of forest fires is usually someone who works for the fire department.
And then we have Al Sharpton. Oh, brother.

Of course it isn't a joke. But to Blame Gibson for it with exactly zero evidence for such an accusation is called "scapegoating." You should read up on the subject sometime.

What makes you say that? You have no idea how often these things happen. "Zero instances" is your own wishful thinking, I'm afraid.

by what logic or wishful thinking do you choose to raise doubt that this instance did happen.

I fully expected a fake antisemitic incident since the outcry over the Passion. The fact that those reporting this incident made it a point to blame "The Passion" makes it suspect.

I'm not saying for sure that this is fake incident, but it is probable.

I know how fakers think. There's more than a few anti-Christians out there who are unhappy with the lack of Christian rampages after the movie. They want so much to say "I told you so!"

I think there are more of those kind of people out there than Christians who have gone to this movie, came out enraged and committed antisemitic crimes.

I know quite well both types of people. I'm afraid being a student of human nature is all I have of "statistical data."

At one time, say before the last year or two, I would have been appalled at the thought of false hate crimes. Since then I've read of more than a few solved cases where the perpetrators where not acting out of hate, but "trying to make a point" or even committing insurance fraud. And the "hate crimes" were of all types, anti-black, anti-gay. anti-Hispanic, and antisemitic.

I really can't say much for sure about the perps of this crime (though I doubt they are members of the synagogue) except that they seem intent on driving a wedge between Jewish-Christian friendship.

From what I see and read it looks like NA (or similar) work.

Serious Jews who deal with this shi+ have already been there.
