Denver Synagogue Vandalized(Passion of Christ Blamed)

DENVER - A Denver synagogue was damaged with graffiti overnight. Swastikas were drawn on the synagogue on south Monaco Parkway.

The graffiti was in the doorway and across a sign. There were also several symbols drawn on the back wall of the building.

A holocaust survivor who saw the graffiti says it was almost too much to take. There was no official response available from the congregation Saturday, although several people who called 9NEWS to report the damage said that they blamed Mel Gibson’s movie “The Passion of the Christ” for rekindling anti-Semitism.

Members of the congregation will gather Sunday morning to start cleaning off the graffiti.

Hmmmmm...Nazis killed Christians and Jews. Yeah, I think this story is 100% correct, despite scenes in the movie from the Bible were Jesus basically says to love your enemy and each other.

No Christian would do such a thing in this country. If anybody, it's most likely a leftist neo-Nazi. Or a teenager trying a new mischief.

I am almost sure it's one of those "liberal" places too. Because one of the Commandments is not to be a false witness, and these people "reporting" the crime to a TV station are all to hasty, to my taste.

Enjoy the movie, my friends! And if it rekindles the spirit of Cristianity in this counntry --- so much the better. Even if a few anti-Semites become more agile by reading the movie a wrong way -- so be it. I do hope, however, that it will help religion in this country.

Just watched the movie this afternoon...and you know what? There wasn't a single swastika in it. So now they hate Mel Gibson and the Christian movie more than they hate Nazis? They'd rather blame this movie than followers of a philosophy that tried to exterminate them? Sounds like some people are completely losing their minds.

I cannot believe you people. This incident is not the end of the world but you defend a movie to the point where you don't care if it sparked this incident. Maybe it didn't. How would you prove it? But the vandilism is not a joke. And you don't care much about it as long as a Christian did not do it.
