DENVER - A Denver synagogue was damaged with graffiti overnight. Swastikas were drawn on the synagogue on south Monaco Parkway.
The graffiti was in the doorway and across a sign. There were also several symbols drawn on the back wall of the building.
A holocaust survivor who saw the graffiti says it was almost too much to take. There was no official response available from the congregation Saturday, although several people who called 9NEWS to report the damage said that they blamed Mel Gibsons movie The Passion of the Christ for rekindling anti-Semitism.
Members of the congregation will gather Sunday morning to start cleaning off the graffiti.

a broad consensus that this a very violent, if not the most violent movie ever made. By whom?
I've seen dozens of films that were worse, including LOTR II.
To: DestroytheDemocrats
Har! The ADL could probably use a new director. But there is a broad consensus that this a very violent, if not the most violent movie ever made. As it should have been.

I am suggesting howver, that maybe some one (a reporter perhaps) should CONFIRM someone's claim to being one. What maybe demand to see the number tattooed on them?
And how would your conversation go?
Applegate Ranch: There are too many of you! Prove you are a Holocaust survivor!
Yeah, great idea.

Evangelical community had hoped for.Well, ya never know.
I would suspect some uptick in attendance.
Does not work for me. I have not attended church in over 30 years.
I am a natural loner, however.
That is my nature and is not the nature of a lot of people.

"I must have missed the media attention when Kill Bill Volume 1. was released."
It was cartoon type violence. I mean one woman was figthing 60 guys with Kung Fu. It was like Matrix. It did get some attention because of the violence however there was no torture in it. Shoot somebody it's quick. Kung fu chop them no biggie. But torture? Can't deal with it.
To: DestroytheDemocrats
The difference is that the violence is NOT gratuitous in any way.

Yeah right!
It is
*Violent
*Antisemitic
*Historically flawed
*Biblically flawed
*Sadomasochistic
*In unknown languages
Abe Foxman & Co. hate a bad movie like that.

Thank you so much for this post!!!
You really understood what it means for some people, not to go.....(pear pressure).
A very big church close by where I'm living ,tells their congregation to go and bring the children........that's child-abuse . These pictures (and on top without any knowledge), create psycho logic problems, they will stay with them all their lives. Nightmares are a mild form what will happen to them,

There may be such a consensus, however it is misplaced. It Is certainly not the most violent movie... Not even close. The only reason it is seen that way is because of who the victim was. The violence consisted of Jesus getting a terrible beating. Many movies show people getting their brains blown out, their heads hacked off, their guts spilled all over the pavement. This movie had none of this. It was the rage inspired by the innocences of the Christ that caused it to be so horrific.

Are you will willing to withdraw that comment ?

I for one, would love to forgive the 2000 year old people who Crucified Christ, as He has done and for my forefathers to be forgiven of their sins as well.Forgive them? Heck, I want to thank them. Someone had to do it, and Jesus chose them.

Some Xtian churches need to organize to personally remove that stuff. It "sends the right message."

"As it should have been."
Okay. But then I would add that there are innocent non Chrisians in this world to whom horrible things have happened and they too may make a movie that is just as grahpic and heartt wrenching as the Passion. But then how many of these kinds of movies are good for us? I don't know the just answer but this movie raises that question.

Is 9News willing to retract its *story*?

I don't think you've seen the movie; ergo, you really don't deserve an opinion. Outside of the context of Christianity, it's not that violent. The kids see worse on TV.

Why don't you take your boot off the necks of these people and let them up off the ground you're accusing until their is some MENTION of proof!

Antisemitism is a meaningless term, No it is not. It is an ancient, evil, and still present hatred of Jews. There is nothing in the least humorous about it. It is altogether evil.
How do you feel about anti-Christianity?
