In the Criminal Party debates, Senator Kerry let loose this gem in response to a question "Is God on America's side [in the war on terror]": Well, God will -- look, I think -- I believe in God, but I don't believe, the way President Bush does, in invoking it all the time in that way. I think it is -- we pray that God is on our side, and we pray hard. And God has been on our side through most of our existence.

Senator Kerry is NOT sure whether God is on our side?

Aristide has fled Haiti, and rebel troops are positing themselves to move into the Capital. The head of the country's Supreme Court has taken over as President, as called for by Haiti's Constitution. The rebel leader has said that he acknowledges Alexandre as the head of the government.

Wonderful report on the wedding! My daughter will be getting married sometime this fall. They have a hall they want to use and once that's booked, she hopes the rest of the schedule will flow around it. She and her fiance will plan most everything (she and rest of my family live in St. Louis) and I guess my function will be to help pay the bills (her dad is a nice guy, but has a low end job that doesn't make much money) - - I hope to go in to St. Louis in March and dress shop with her. That part will be thrilling!

Her best girlfriend had the "fairytale princess" wedding about a year ago and she doesn't want near the hassle that Dana went through to put on her wedding. They're hoping to save money for a downpayment on a house. Smart girl! I think she gets that from me :-)

Daughter is our youngest (hubby has two children by a previous marriage and they are both married) so she will be the last one hitched - - hopefully, all their marriages are/will be solid! Kelly waited a long time before settling on Jeff, and he's a wonderful guy. Great son-in-law material. Hope the feeling about me as a mil is mutual!

You need to let him know in NO uncertain terms he is 1) way out of line. 2) overstep his bounds 3) Committed a criminal act.

I would further tell him you expect him to have a replacement in the driveway (no access to garage etc anymore) in ONE WEEK OR the money equivalent.

Neets.. thanks for your report on viewing of Passion. For most of us the reflection time is an unfolding process. I feel differently now than I did 12 hours after seeing it. More focused.

Right afterward I swore I would NOT want to see it again..Now I do. I missed a lot by being overwhelmed with the scourging ..

Prairie.. hope you all have a great trip and it does take those pooches awhile to settle down. I usually travel alone & Oliver sits on front seat, like any other passenger, & looks out front/side windows. I get LOTS of laughs, & thumbs up from other drivers.

It is not so important that God is on our side, but whether we are on His.

And that is the crux of the matter. The fact that Kerry couldn't come up with that answer is what does it for me in his relationship with God, versus his relationship with the State. Moreover, this is particularly telling when we are dealing with the War on Terror, since our enemy has defined the conflict in religious terms. We may worship the same God, but I am of the belief our opponents are not siding with God.
