In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Good Morning Students. Welcome to class!
Class is now in session. The rules are simple; you get a grade if you use the WFTD in a sentence, haiku, limerick, or quatrain. You get a "+" if you make a link, or make the teacher laugh, or you offer the appropriate bribes. I hold the grade book; the whip and chair.
The society, made up of military and civilian veterinarians and ministry officials, was formed to address the growing need for animal control in Baghdad. (snip)
Sumner said the studies of Iraqs canine population revealed startling results. Because one litter of pups can multiply into 69,000 dogs within one year, the dog population in Iraq could cause problems on a national scale if left unchecked. (snip)
Oh I am sure someone, somewhere is going to consider this effort a waste of time, but their logic is going to be hard pressed to impute the fact that unchecked wild animals can and do carry diseases that are harmful to the humans. What these guys have done is a wonder. They are going to be bringing education in to a population in sore need of it, as well as staving off rampant disease, and uncontrollable wild packs. I think its a grand idea.
Animal control,
Cannot impute the logic,
