Our pastor talked about the movie after his sermon on Sunday. He really encouraged everyone to go see it. In other words, it IS coming to town. We have one rather wealthy parishioner who did some string pulling and got the reels and arranged it.
They wouldn't let us buy out a show even so, so Father wants us to buy it out of our own accord - next Sunday evening. Then as many people as would like to are invited to stay afterwards so we can talk about it a little. He said he was pretty sure everyone was going to feel like they NEEDED to talk about it as it was going to be really a tough viewing.
He also said he was pretty sure he wasn't gonna feel the urge to go torch a synagogue afterwards. ;-) Heh.

We're going Thursday evening. The moms that homeschool at my church. My friend Celeste, you know? She's in charge of this month's Moms in Fellowship. Already got the tickets. I got my mom a ticket too...she's going with me, which makes me a bit nervous...but I think it'll be good.
We're going out for a time of fellowship before the movie, eating dinner together.
Our church bought 80 tickets for people to give away to people who don't have a church home. Last night, they had 8 left.
They showed the trailer in our worship service and I can tell it's going to be a hard movie to watch.

I don't know if the Pastor mentioned it at the other Masses, but the Assoc. Pastor didn't say ANYTHING about it at 5:30 Mass. We talked to him after Mass and he said he's planning to see it on Thurs. or Friday, so I hope he'll mention it in his homily next Sunday.

The part about it that I think will affect me the most is being forced to see the suffering that my sins helped cause and that Christ endured for me despite my sin. The other thing I'm thinking about is that it's really unprecedented how the media is doing so much to try to tear Mel Gibson down, which leads me to conclude Gibson must be doing something right. "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Didja do your run?
I did. Boy, that was hard! And I fell off the treadmill...
