This reinforces my opinion that northern Wisconsin should not be considered a Yankee state--you go far enough north it becomes closer to Texas, except for the weather :) I'd be interested to hear if those who have experienced both the Yooper and Texan experience would agree with that.

Yes, I would say there is a certain attitude common to both places.

Kevin Fowler has a song called "Beer, Bait, and Ammo". He's from Texas, and wrote the song about a certain kind of establishment one finds in Texas... but I'm sure I've been in the same kind of place in the U.P. I'll post the lyrics if I can find them...
