Yes, I would say there is a certain attitude common to both places.

Kevin Fowler has a song called "Beer, Bait, and Ammo". He's from Texas, and wrote the song about a certain kind of establishment one finds in Texas... but I'm sure I've been in the same kind of place in the U.P. I'll post the lyrics if I can find them...

Haven't heard that song, but the title reminds me of the bar down the road which is just down from the bridge where everyone fishes when they're not going hunting, LOL!
