Hey, I got a question for ya, seein' as you and the Mrs. seem to know about such things...I have another pot roast to make tonight or tomorrow. Will probably do it on the stove top, but I'm trying to decide what seasonings to use this time around. Any suggestions?

Last one was mostly just garlic and salt and pepper...and then mushrooms towards the end. Made nice gravy. But this time I don't plan on putting any vegetables in with it, so I can make it more highly seasoned...

I"m not g'nad, and I don't even play him on TV ;o), but here's a pot-roast seasoning suggestion. I use McCormick brand Montreal Steak Seasoning. Some of the ingredients are Coarse Salt, Black Pepper, Dill and Coriander Seed, Red Pepper, Garlic and Paprika. It is VEY good!

Dredge the roast in flour mixed with a tablespoon of the seasoning, then brown it on all sides in the big pan you're going to use for cooking. When it's browned, add some water to cook it in (put a little more seasoning in the water), then put the lid on it and put it on a very low heat for several hours! It will be yummy!

I've never done a pot roast on the stove top...

we put a chuck roast in the crockpot this mornin... we just got back from Springfield...

I'd use thyme and marjoram, garlic, onions... two tuh three cups of broth... half-cup of red wine or a can of beer...
