I guess I like Joshua. He's cool. A little... immoral, maybe. Syrinx is just odd. But I was rooting for Joshua over Syrinx in the smuggling bit. So I guess I like him.
Dexter has to die. He's horrible.

Back from doing some shopping. Feeling appropriately Scrooge-ish.
I was baaaaaad...spent a lot of money on ME. Some of it was almost justifiable...
For one thing, now that I'm starting that running thing, I needed shoes...the ones I had from before are literally falling apart. I stoopidly bought a pair of Nike's a year or so ago when I was getting into walking again, but they are murder on my feet. Ten minutes and I'm in severe pain. I only got 'em 'cause they were wayyy on sale and felt more or less OK in the store. Dumb move.
So I splurged at got some very similiar to my well-loved old ones, which I guess I should through out now. The soles are peeling off. But they were good shoes! *snif*
I didn't want to spent that much, but they were half price and it's motivation!
I also got a few chocolates at the candy store and a jar of blue cheese-stuffed olives. Mmmmm...

Well... I think Joshua has his own set of ethics, which don't always match the letter of the law. Syrinx's entire culture is odd, from our point of view, but I thought it was well-laid-out and self-consistent, as an extrapolation of what a space-faring gene-manipulating human culture might become.
Dexter, as the major villain, doesn't meet his end until the last book. But, it is a fitting end, I thought.
