I have a prayer request myself. Please, It would greatly be appreciated.

I will try to keep it short.

My dad, Joe, has a very bad alcohol addiction, to put it mildly. He has been in and out of centers to help him and nothing has worked. ONLY GOD CAN! At this point, in his life he is on meds for anxiety and depression. These meds are being prescribed to him to fight the alcohol desire. The BAD thing is he pops these pills with a drink. And I am not talking beer. He drinks a pint or more a day of hard liquor.

And I know I am giving you alot of personal details BUT I want these prayers to be specific PLEASE.

He called me Friday night. I could tell from his voice he was drinking and was very drunk. He said he had been awake for a week straight. He said he got up Monday and decided he was just gonna quit cold turkey all by himself. And he had gone all week without a drop. BUT He said he was so high strung from the with drawls he would stay up all night pacing the floor. He is a postman so he walks a 13 mile route during the day. He said when he got home Friday night he was so exhausted he just had to have one drink. And of course he popped in a few pills at the same time. Before he knew it he had gone crazy.

Then he called me Sunday and said he was better. And I thought he was. He sounded sober.

BUT then he called me Monday from his route and he said he DID NOT remember either of our phone conversations AT ALL. He had a total black out of the entire weekend. He had drank so much.

Please be in prayer with me!

It's hard for him to do it alone... The habits are much more than withdrawals.... Would he go to any kind of ongoing treatment group?

Please be in prayer with me!

You have my prayers. But if your father really wants help, he should check with his employer. Most have programs to quit, if the employee really wants it. He needs medical help, along with our prayers.

So sorry about your dad. Is he under a doctor's care? I assume he is if he is being prescribed medicine. You need to tell all of this to his doctor. Prayers for him and your family.
