might check out some strollers too :-)
I am having a dilema. The infant car seat I have from when elf-boy was little has an instruction on the back of it stating "Do not use this carseat after December 2004" Hmph. The weight limit is 20 lbs. Should I scrap it and get a new one now, or use it and scrap it in december and get a new one then? It makes a difference because I do not have the stroller that came with it originally. If I keep it, then I only need a compatible stroller. If I scrap it now, then I need to get a whole new travel system.
I am heavily leaning towards keeping it, and scrapping it later. I can at least get eight good months out of it.
Am I rambling? Sorry.

IMHO, you're best off purchasing a new travel system altogether.
The safety features they have now, even on the less-expensive models, are WAY better than the most expensive system from 3+ years ago.
Put it on your registry and see if someone gets it for you! *grin*

Why do carseats expire? Will the plastic get stressed or something?
Eight months sounds like enough time for baby to grow out of it, or at least into something that will last longer, but maybe it's been too long since there were little sibs at my house.
