The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

It's the best thread on FR, hands down.
And I do openly admit that I am highly biased. *grinning*

Aww, you don't need to compete!

Heretic. The five book trilogy is required reading.

You're welcome... I'm the self-appointed archivist to the Hobbit Hole, so looking up stuff like that is pretty easy for me.
To: Professional Engineer
I'll get to it, I'll get to it.
My reading queue looks like other peoples' Netflix queues, though.

> I suspect Fedora will make the top 10 this week...What's that? :)
To: RosieCotton
If I stacked all of my unread books, the stack would be 5 to 6 feet tall.

Not compete? And let WN walk away with the crown week after week?
She needs a run for her money! *grin*

Um...I can top that.
Plus I haven't read all the ones the library has that I wanna read. And the ones that I can get on interlibrary loan. And the ones I intend to order when I have money someday.
And then I can start over again.
Books, wonderful booooooks!

I post a count each week showing how many messages have been posted to the HH, and who the Top Ten posters are.
See here for an example!

Heretic. The five book trilogy is required reading.Wouldn't that be a quintilogy? :) I'll admit I'm a heretic on that count, too: I've listened to the first book on radio so I know the story, and I even own a copy, but I've never actually read it yet (hangs head in shame).
To: RMDupree
Lately I've been in the top three.
But I think I partly have my siblings to thank for that.
Ruh-roh...

*head hung down in shame*
I shall now force myself to watch Bakshi LOTR as penalty for this terrible infraction.

And let WN walk away with the crown week after week? After last week, I was thinking of changing my private nickname for Wn from "Double-up" to "Triple-up".

Yet another reason I must find ways to post from work!!
