The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Rosie, I've seen pictures of you.
You don't look anything like a taxi service.
Why should you be treated as if you were a taxi service?
Don't any of them drive?

> Thanks much. I remember when this kid was in Kindergarten (He is the same age as my baby brother)! Who would have ever thought he could be old enough to be in the Army? Not sure where all the time went.
I feel like that whenever I look at my nieces and nephews I haven't seen in a while. One day they're toddlers, the next time I see them they're in high school!

Good :)

I imagine! I'll have it scanned and will at least post it here. If it's as good as the current one on my profile page, I'll replace it.

Ok! I'm going. See you all later. I should be here tonight, after picture-taking, while the boys are at the hockey game. Hopefully with popcorn.

Well, I'm just impressed you two know both Westron and Rohirrim to confuse them in the first place, LOL!

The Man in the Moon.
> 10. was sent by Cirdan on an errand to Rivendell?

Hmm, pretty good. Must ask it some harder riddles, my precious. . .
To: Fedora
Ah, right, old Otho Proudfoot's grandson. Bad sort, that Sancho. Bet he hung out with Ted Sandyman.

You're doing better than I did last time I tried these :) Here's some questions on the theme "seven":
1. What ravine was barred by seven gates?
2. What Third Age city had seven gates?
3. What were the Seven Hoards?
4. Give another name for the Seven Stars.
5. What major character in LotR had seven toes on each foot?
6. What ultimately happened to the Seven Rings of the Dwarves?
7. What were the Seven Stones?

"There's that Ted Sandyman, a-cutting down trees as he shouldn't. . .I wish I could get at Ted, and I'd fell him!" :)

The treasures of the Dwarf-lords
4. Give another name for the Seven Stars.
The Sickle (of the Valar?)
5. What major character in LotR had seven toes on each foot?
Treebeard - not a major character, IMHO
6. What ultimately happened to the Seven Rings of the Dwarves?
They were consumed by dragons or regained by Sauron
7. What were the Seven Stones?

Suppertime here for me! Will check back with y'all later.
I'm ready to kill someone.
I have something that must be done before I leave tonight. It would be working, except for one little thing that I have asked and asked to have fixed. The person who could fix it just ran out the door despite my asking for help. So... who knows when I get to go home. I am SO frustrated, I could scream.

Don't any of them drive?
Not yet. Margaret should be getting her license in May. The state now has reallllly stoopid and prohibitive rules for drivers under 18, one of which is that they have to go through a driver's ed program that costs quite a bit, and another being that they aren't allowed to drive with younger kids in the car or something along those lines...pretty useless, if you ask me. But I'll be happy when May comes along! If nothing else, she'll get a taste of why it drives (no pun intended) my brother and I crazy when they decide stuff at the last minute, just assuming that neither of us have any other lives.
We've figured everything out for tonight, at least. Sigh.

I am SO frustrated, I could scream.Seems to be going around tonight...
Did my run. I'm still feeling rather unsure about advancing on Monday, but I'm doin' some crosstraining (that's the fancy term, right?) in the form of snowshoeing tomorrow...with that and a recovery day on Sunday, maybe I'll feel more positive on Monday. Or not. Heh...we'll see.
Right now I just feel outta shape and tired.
Gonna go eat dinner and then go get my hair cut, which I realllly need. It's going to cost, but at this point I don't care - I need it!
