The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

LOL, likely have the first ones dried before you get the last on the line.

I have a VERY small , fairly well insulated house, but I'm still paying at least a hundred a month for oil. That's with keeping the thermostat set down to 60 most of the time, too. And since I have to run a humidifier constantly to keep the humidity even above 30, my electric bill goes up, too. This is still cheaper than the propane in my last apartment, and I could never get warm there, either. Drafty old place...it was horrid. I can't complain too much, I guess.

Granted, this winter was colder than some, but not by that much. I'll be happy when summer comes!

Wondering also if you guys pay different rates for the high demand times, like we do here. I pay a higher rate per kilowatt during the summer months. You would think, in bulk, I'd get a better price. Huh?

Rates go up slightly during the evening hours here in the winter, so far as I can recall. Yeah...I don't get it either!

They have no hair. Make very poor mops.

They'd make better bristle brushes.

Hm...there's a thought.

Insulation will help. How old is your A/C unit?

Just not ready to meet the summer heat yet, and the A/C bills that come with it.
