Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,

We have ticks...but I don't know what a red bug is.

On the other hand, we have black flies. You haven't experienced nasty biting until you've met those. They prefer eyes and ears, and when they bite you bleed like crazy...it's bad.

Luckily they only last until summer...once it gets hot they disappear.

But! We all know the truth of this! 2J will be noodling before the week is out. Do we need another pool for how long it takes? It's gonna be pretty warm today and tomorrow. Bet she does it if she can get out to the river.

Me neither! And I grew up like no other 28 year old I know. I bathed in Hog Creek for heavens sake but I don't wanna waller in some mud hole and pull out a fish 1/2 my size...by its mouth.

Well, I'd tell ya my brother would take you out and teach you how. But, he lives pretty far from you. Knowing you, you will be an ace at it before we'd get a chance to schedule the meeting!

Well, I got it in my mind, you know. And Steve likes the idea too! We'll probably try to find someone to show us how and where.

Particularly if the ~best~ thing you might find in the hole is a catfish.

Ain't that the truth. I'd rather cast a line for bass or crappie!

Yeah, but when you were bathin' in the creek you weren't stickin' your arms up to your armpits in muddy holes either were ya?

I gotta say...I found the fishing the neighbors at Entmoot were doin' to be pretty fascinating. It had never occurred to me that people could actually stand on the SHORE at the ocean and fish!

Though I wouldn't know what to do with a fish if I caught one, leastways not one of those big suckers. And I can't help wondering just how clean the water is. I probably don't wanna know.

Biggest fish I ever caught was a big ol' northern pike up in Minnesota. It was thrilling!

I just love to fish...mainly because I love to EAT fish.

I bet there are lots of places to go really close to you. Lots of water holes - and the river.

And I can't help wondering just how clean the water is.

Cleaner than the feedlot the beef you eat lived in!

I've encountered chiggers. Though I never saw 'em. But I've been bitten or whatever by 'em before. In Germany, though. Scared me because of the red lines they made...only thing I knew that caused that was blood poisoning...infection. But they went away eventually. I was told we probably met up with some when mountain biking and didn't know it.

Though at least the beef didn't swim right in the muck at the feedlot...I hope...

Heh.... Cattle crap where they eat. Trust me... there is no non-mucky spot in the home of a steer.
