The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Hah, cool! I'm glad you like to reread books. Sometimes I feel like the only person who does that (other than for LotR, of course). I read a book six or seven times, if it's good. And I have so many old friends on the shelves...
Taking a few minutes to eat ice cream, then it's buckle down and study for my test tomorrow.

Well, it wasn't much, but it was a hot meal! Fried chicken breast strips, rice a roni, and canned corn. With glasses of milk. The kids just loved it...
Steve'll be home in 2 hours. I've almost got the kitchen cleaned up from dinner.

Old friends, exactly. I've lost count of the number of times I've read some books. Some by Zelazny (my favorite, after all) I read again every few years.
Ice cream sounds like a good idea!

Yes, Zelazny's one who's earned a permanent, prominent place on my shelves, next to Heinlein and Tolkien and others.
It's a bit like a chat with a very good friend, rereading an old favorite. Sure, you know what's going to happen but there always seems to be something new to get out of it.

Well, my soup turned out very good. I'm just as glad I didn't have milk for the cornbread. It's perfect with tortillas!
However, my kitchen is not cleaned. But, there isn't much with just me.

Tabasco now makes a Chipotle sauce... man it's tastey...Want! I haven't seen that here! Maybe at the Shaw's across the river they've got it...I'll have to check!

It's been so many years since I fried chicken that I don't remember that. But, I've gotten pretty good at only spattering half my kitchen when I fry steak. :-)

Had a friend that always told me food wasn't good unless it made your nose run. Over the last 20 years or so I've come to determine he was correct!
