The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Mom is out of surgery and all went well. So far the cells taken in lymph nodes are clear. But there's a test waiting for 3 days yet to come. Looks very good right now.

Well. It's snowin' here. I think I shoulda driven down to spend this weekend with MBY.Yes you should have. My niece Melissa angel did. She was so disappointed that she missed it. Her back yard in Leander (North Austin) was covered in 2 or 3 inches. Even my mom's in San Antonio got snow. I would have been tempted to drive north to take D to see the stuff, but it was valentine's dance night. No way he was leaving that.

Well, I still got snow on the ground here and staying holed up in the house! Loving every minute of it too!

Okay, so this shoulda been the weekend you brought D up here! Snow got 6 or 8 inches deep here and hasn't all melted yet. Roads are clear now and there are a few patches of grass showing... but the grassy areas are still mostly covered with snow. I am attributing that to having no kids here to tromp it down like usual! LOL

Ben thought he might "sneak" out into the back yard saturday. We discouraged him:Eh...he probably woulda been fine. The picture you posted is of a cat from the Mount Washington observatory, no? Bit different conditions! Yikes.
My kitties are strictly indoor cats. They know nothing of such things! They live very cushy lives.

So thankful about your Mom. Will continue to keep her as well as you in prayer.

guess I'll go open a can of beets. . .gads.
Ack! Spit! I'd rather just drink a half a gallon of water to fill me up than eat those nasty things!
Susi, I thought you were from the south, the "land of the beet" and of the radish, like those Ms. Scarlett ate from her slightly spoiled garden and then threw up. (GWTW)
I ate them (the beets) raw and wiggling, right out of the can. You think I lost my salvation, Corin, eatin' demon food? (BTW, sorry about the sagging ceiling and potential plumbing problems. . .you and the family will be in our prayers, if you want them)
Hey everyone.
Did it snow in Dallas? I would have like to have seen it. Terry is gone up there. Wish I could have gone with him. I will miss him and haven't seen snow in such a long time. I'm here with Aimee' who is not in such a good mood.

http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/entmoot/ Thanks for the ping! My response is slow this afternoon because of course one can't be hasty when discussing an Entmoot, hroom :) I've actually never been to an Entmoot, but I used to meet with a group called the Burrahobbits that read one new fantasy novel for discussion every couple weeks or so. One of our members was working with Tolkien's original manuscripts at Marquette and helping Tolkien's son edit some of the unpublished stuff. I'm not quite as far into it as he was, but close :) I'm writing a Tolkien-esque novel series right now. Don't know if I'll ever finish, but "Silmarillion" took what, 60 years, so I guess I've got a while yet!

Saw this one today. Thought it was cute. Matrix, Smith you know.
Anybody seen the Butterfly Effect? I was wondering if it was any good.
