The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

It's Valentine's Day and I'm alone. Or rather worse, I'm in a house full of younger siblings. I'm entitled to spam.
And maybe it's bedtime now... shuffling off before Hair shows up...

Well... then I guess they can go anywhere you want?? :-)I'm kinda figuring when Myranda makes it up here she'll straighten me out. And have a good laugh!
The worst is... hate to admit this... I've got photos of my niece and nephew's graduation. And I can't remember for the life of me when they graduated! It was after Jill... and before Myranda... (and this is my *favorite* niece and nephew)

I have trouble remembering all my cousins' kids names. I'm not even sure whose are whose... hehehe....
To: Ramius
Ummm.... I don't even try to do that anymore. Aunt Cheryl and I sat down after Christmas to try to make a list of that exact thing. Only, we had to call my grandmother, Cheryl's mom to get 2 names. (and no, now that I'm thinkin' about it I don't remember them now)
That side of my family is the small family. Mom's side is large .... I ain't even gonna try to think about it.

you get the magazines yet Yep, got em same time as the chips and salsa. Thanks a bunch. Snowing here today...you believe that.
To: HairOfTheDog
but of course it is prolly not raining there You're right...it's not raining here, but it is SNOWING today. I couldnt believe my eyes. Snowing hard too.

It's SNOWING here!!!! A little taste of home for us. It is a little on the cold side considering it was 65 yesterday, but a nice change of pace for us. Of all the things I thought I would see in Iraq, snow was not on the list. One of the locals told me it snows in Mosul every 10 to 15 years. Lucky us.

Nice website SRL Net has, but in building the website, is it user-friendly? I am not an egghead here. LoL I guess it may not be what you are looking for then. They don't have any building tools... you have to build the pages yourself in an HTML program like FrontPage, and upload them.
To: smaagee
Build a snow man! I'm off to meet your uncle for breakfast at Golden Corral.
To: smaagee
SNOWING? WOW!
I hope you are taking pictures! Good ummm.... evening!
It's morning here.... just fed my ponies their breakfast.
To: smaagee
Morning/Evening Smaagee; snow and date palms, quite an image. Wonder how the locals are reacting to it. Probably not much of a snow culture there. Take of yourself, we appreciate the posts and pictures. You and your colleagues are doing a great job and regardless of the polls, Americans do support the troops.

Morning All; we got double digits this a.m. but W/C is single. Got some melting yesterday but not enough to suit us. This snow is hanging tough. Warming next week. Started walking again but still a too few sidewalks clear of snow and ice to be all that enjoyable. The day was a bit bitter-sweet as it was Samantha's day; Five years ago we got her on Valentine's day. But another mental hurdle was crossed and all is well here in the Show-Me state.
G'nad; sounds like a good idea to me, hope you are successful; have been hearing quite a bit about a Purpose Driven Life and will definitely check it out.
Sam: got the package yesterday, pretty good way to send things. Glad it worked out for you.
Finishing up some odds and ends today, LSA is grilling up some bacon to accompany the eggeses.

Old Dogs missed whenever we pass by one of their familiars! Good morning Osage and LSAggie.
I don't remember the date or even the time of year I got Logan.... I got Zulu one very rainy Thanksgiving when she was a wet starved thing who sought shelter or comfort or just the source of good smells in our garage.
Gidget was a Christmas present I took back.
To: SuziQ
Was it a wedding band? No, it had an ornament of some kind...didn't look like a class ring, but possibly, I suppose.
Heh...all this speculation! Guess I'll just have to talk to him and find out the truth.
To: HairOfTheDog
I love that Zulu came to you. I've almost never seen stray dogs here...which is a good thing, of course. I imagine it's probably close to as rare there? So for one to just show up, literally on your doorstep...seems there's definitely a guiding hand there.
