The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

My living room is vey small. There IS, however, Dad's place. They don't have a big house either, but might work for a small group, especially if some stayed here and some there.
I wonder...
Well, we'll see. T'would be fun! And Suzi WOULD be going by the airport kinda sorta on her way up if we did that...

New England Moots are tricky for me to make but I intend to try this summer.
How do you feel about Anime?

Hmm... so I might not have to drive myself up? I'd rather fly...

My parents gave me a ring when I was 13, with my birthstone and theirs, for my right hand. It's to symbolise, um, continuing purity until marriage. I know other people have the same thing... so... it might be viable...Huh...I wonder. I didn't really talk to him this time...maybe next time.
He seemed like a real gentleman, in any case. Not too many of those around these days! Couldn't guess his age, though. Anywhere from about thirty to forty or so...probably in the middle. Not a horribly bad age difference, if so...
To: RosieCotton
Someone that age is probably settled, has a good job, about ready for a couple dozen kids...

Could be!
If it DID happen...I have Van-sama for transport up here. And there are plenty of things to do in the area, albeit pretty much all outdoors - and not just in the backyard like at Entmoot.
To: RosieCotton
I could definitely, definitely be persuaded... ooohh... I wonder about the 4th of July weekend? Might be a good time...

And prolly a series girl friend, too. And probably thinks the Catholic Church is the Whore of Babylon, if'n he's Christian. ;-) Well, we'll see! I didn't get a chance to talk to him much this time, but he was chatty enough with other folks.

Southwest flies into Manchester, NH. Dunno how much that would be, though.
To: RosieCotton
For what it's worth, in my single days I wore a few rings on both hands, and on different fingers.
Didn't mean anything other than I thought they looked cool.

Not all Prots think so badly of our seperated brethren... don't go by the people in the religion forum on FR. I personally don't think I could convert, or marry a Catholic, but then again I don't think I could convert to Southern Baptist, either.

How do you feel about Anime?I like it well enough. I still watch my old "Aeon Flux" tape from time to time.

Not all Prots think so badly of our seperated brethren... Oh, I know. But on the other side, I could never marry someone that wasn't either Catholic or interested in converting.
To: RosieCotton
Mmm... nothing ventured, nothing gained...
Do you know, does Suzi live near Boston? Perhaps flying into there could be more practical.

I think she might be north of there, but I'm not sure.
To: RosieCotton
Well, we could make real plans later. But I rather like the idea.

We can come back to it. But it's out there, at least!
We might even could plan for a several day hike in NH and stay at the huts along the way. They're somewhat pricey - like up to $20 a day - but provide supper and breakfast and linens and all, so you don't have to carry any of that.
I've always wanted to do that. Dunno if the idea appeals to you at all...
To: RosieCotton
Heh, let's see how fit I am when done with the 5K thing! But theoretically, yeah, that sounds cool. These huts, do they have electricity? Because I could probably borrow our little portable dvd player - it's really, really tiny, but for anime, might be ok...

No electricity - they're way out there. They have to carry everything in or drop it from a helicopter.
Maybe day hikes would be better, if we did any. I just like the idea of spending the night on the mountain!
Bilbo has been on the phone with one of the California brothers for like two hours now. I'm eating without him.
