The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I can think of at least ONE single gal who could really appreciate the new Cupid elf...

He's too pretty for me. Besides I prefer my own species.

The end of race week is turning out to reflect the holiday today. Just sucks. Yeah....and they had the nerve to switch to arena football instead of showing the second qualifying race. :(
Went grocery shopping to get dinner for the kitty. It turned out to be rather a nice day and since a few of my housplants are putting out leaves, I took 'em out on the patio...deck....balcony thingy and did some plant maintenance.

I think he'll be a lot more attractive in ten years or so.
Soup almost done, Bilbo just arrived...feeling lonely anyway.
Can't wait for this day to be over.

Thank-you for posting the idea, one of the best culinary diversions i've tried in a long time. You're very welcome! Glad to hear it went well!

Not bad, I worked today, finished off framing the dining room of the house I'm helping fix.
Got some flowers for Jess & Autumn, now we're just relaxing.
How was your day?

Good evening. I'm waiting for my parents to head out so I can start tormenting the brothers with Rankin-Bass RotK. I'm in a dark mood... sigh, I've hated Valentine's Day for years and it's no better this year...

No flowers.
*sigh*
But otherwise OK.
To: JenB
Wish you could come for dinner! We could commiserate...and watch anime and such!
To: RosieCotton
Yes, that would be very nice!
We'd better do something this summer... not too soon to start planning, you know...

Valentine's Day is over-rated!
Just another cheap marketing ploy, invented to make great goo-gobs of money for Hallmark and florists.

No, it's not!
Animoot 2004?
A moot of some kind, in any case! Wish I had a bigger house...be fun if everyone could come up here and go hiking during the day and chat and watch movies or play games at night. And I'd be happy to cook!
To: ItsOurTimeNow
Sigh... I don't want cards, or flowers, or chocolate, or (heavens, no) stuffed animals.
I want somebody who'd want to give them to me.

What you say is true...however, it doesn't keep us single folks from being all the more aware of it on days like this!
To: RosieCotton
You've got a floor in the living room, right? So everyone brings sleeping bags and we camp out indoors. Could definitely get Suzi and her family in on it...

I want somebody who'd want to give them to me. That's exactly it!
There was a guy at the jam last night who seemed rather Gondorian. He had a ring of sorts on his right hand instead of left...I'm assuming that means he's taken in some form.
Probably not Catholic, in any case.
Grr...some days it just seems so hopeless. I mean...I LIKE my life. I have a job I really, really enjoy, a nice little house, pets, a family who for the most part I get along with very well...I don't feel like I should give any of that up. But sometimes I wonder if I HAVE to if I don't want to die an old maid...which I already feel like I am, since I mostly end up being the chaperone with the younger gang and don't really have any close friends my own age, now that they're all married and elsewhere.
To: JenB; RosieCotton
I hear you...believe me, I've spent many a year single on Valentine's Day...I know how it can be.
Are y'all forgetting that a New England moot would include Clan Seamus as well? lol

On his right hand... maybe not.
My parents gave me a ring when I was 13, with my birthstone and theirs, for my right hand. It's to symbolise, um, continuing purity until marriage. I know other people have the same thing... so... it might be viable...
