The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I guess it must be a local tradition...It rather startled me at first when they flipped my son upside down! They do it with every rank...Tiger, Wolf, Bobcat, Bear. I didn't see them do it to the Webelos though...I think it stops with Bear.

Matthew says he hates it, but I think he secretly loves it.

Since I got the house spiffed up, I'm gradually doing the same thing. Putting up pictures, adding touches here and there of things I like (keeping it to a minimum...don't want more to have to clean, you know? LOL) But like my dust ruffle I got at the thrift store. It just snazzed the room up...made it look not quite so partially done.

One thing I forgot to do with the rooms is that I forgot to switch the dust ruffles between my room and Myranda's room. Her's is flowery. Mine is an earth tone print. I don't like flowery. I figure I will switch those within the next few weeks but I'd just flipped both mattresses and made both beds. Didn't want to take 'em apart again. I will live with flowery on the dust ruffle for a while.

I got the mountain of clothes folded and ready to put away...I didn't get the boy's put away and they are already in bed so that will have to wait till morning. But I can get the rest put up.

There is a load of towels in the dryer (the dryer doesn't nick holes in the towels). I will try to get them folded tonight. Then that's it!

Stopping flipping at Weblos rank might just be a good idea for dad's back, some of the young 'uns start growing up bout then.:-) I recall the bobcat pin, and bear and wolf badges, I thought we had a lion instead of tiger. But that were a while back. :-)
I agree, Matthew probably liked it, especially Joshua holding onto his hat.

Yeah, my dust ruffle is flowery...I would have prefered a more plain one too. But for a buck fifty, I can live with flowery until I find one I like (for a buck fifty). LOL

I'm going. Got a lot of work to do before bed and Steve is liable to be in any minute.

Good night all!!

I need to go to Hobby Lobby tomorrow. I've got to get a mat for a large frame and 2 other frames. I guess I have no self control when it comes to hangin' stuff on the walls cause I like my walls covered - cept for the real wood paneled wall in the new library. I don't want nothin' coverin' that wood!

Well, think there will be more than one calling dibs on the 'black toasty things'

Wh; we like 'em too, usually just get them for a special treat, like a road trip or holiday.

What size is your bed? I have another one for a full size bed but you might not want it either. It was white eyelet but Myranda likes red so I dyed it red. Then she was given the flowery one though and wanted it instead. "Given" is a good price too! :-)

Holy cow... there is just *the nuttiest* lady here at da bar tonight. I'm not sure but I think she may be an escapee from a mental ward.

Crazy talk. Goin' on and on and on about some hospital that killed some friend of hers... Oh, dear...

Well, this time it didn't :-) Larnin' a thing is always a good thing.

Well, that was the book alright. How the herd take to the article? Quite a powerful story. I hope some of them will read the book.
