Well, the boys are read to, and tucked in. The chickens are in, Puffy gave me grief and I had to chase her all around so that by the time I caught her I was out of breath!

Speaking of grief, Joshua came up to me after his bath and said "What is this? It's giving me grief!" I looked and said "What is it?" Joshua shrugged, Matthew declared it was spilled cough syrup, but on closer inspection I saw that Joshua had scratched himself and was bleeding. I said "Oh, you have a scratch here! You need a bandaid!" Joshua immediately went into hysterics.

How something could be passed off as cough syrup one minute then just shy of an amputation the next is beyond me.

Jim is actually probably a gentler driver than I am...so I'm not really worried...but I still am gonna miss my van. For one thing, with all the stoopid big snowbanks on the corners here, you can't SEE in a little car. I hadn't realized how bad I'd had it until I got Van-sama and suddenly could see OVER those banks.

On the other hand, the car is so small and light and low that it feels like driving a go-cart or sumpin. Kinda fun in a way...though it doesn't feel as secure...

I have done donuts down a highway at 60mph, so I know about the uneasiness you have with that. I was a passenger at the time, and ice had nothing to do with it.

I take it your truck is a 2x not a 4x?

I dunno 2J. With Jill every little accident or wound was an open opportunity for her to explore! She started telling me she wanted to be a pediatrician when she was 4 years old. All her childhood she had to look VEY closely at everything wound related! Whether it was her, me, her sister, a dog, cat, rabbit, wild critter - whatever. She had to check out every little thing.

Then, she had kids, and from the first it was calling me to say, "Oh no Mom, what do I do? Abby sniffled!" :-) But, I liked that! A LOT! Now, she's an old hand at "moming" so I don't get that anymore. But it was pretty cool!

I still think it likely that someday she will go back to school for something medical. She's just got all this interest and curiosity about it! --- you KNOW she didn't get that from her squeemish mama!

Heh...kinda like how a kid'll fall down and just sit looking surprised until Mom makes a fuss...then they'll bust out sobbing.

Dunno. The Spirit of Australia is on display at a maritime museum in Australia. The engine with afterburner is straight from an F4 Phantom.

The best part. She's a Wooden Boat. The entire hull is wood. Totally cool.

Yes. I thought about a 4x... But, realistically... I live in Texas. True enough I lived in a hilly area then but I just didn't see the *need* for 4 wheel drive. At the time I was still at the old house and had plenty of family members and neighbors to borrow from if needed.

Before this pickup I had an old Jeep 4X pickup... but before that a 69 Chevy. I miss my old Chevy. It was the best truck I ever had.

It's so odd to go from driving huge SUVs to my little car. I love my car... I'm not going to love driving it to Detroit, week after next, but I do love my car.

Heh heh heh I've seen some Skycar articles here and there. Certainly looks interesting. Wonder if an SUV version is in the works?
