The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

They were really friendly though...I don't want it to sound like I had a totally bad experience, because everyone was very nice. For some reason I see you saying the same exact phrase after you get back from Sturgis.

These would be the wenches that the pirates, after raiding the ship, would have left behind and sailed away quickly. "No, no, really, it's OK... we're not kidnapping you... really... NO NO... DO NOT cross that board to my ship. You're staying HERE! Get it??... Hey you!! Get off that gangplank RIGHT NOW. Go back. Please for the luvva God GO BACK."

I don't get it...fill me in, I'm a bit thick.

I need to learn that song. I really, really like it.
To: 2Jedismom
hehehe... no worries, but right now WN is rolling uncontrollably on the floor. That's OK too.
Sturgis... Biggest biker event in the world, in Sturgis, SD. Bikers converge there every year for a week of bikes, babes and beer.
It's the sort of thing that if you aren't part of the bike culture you would find terrifying, but if you were really there you would just love everybody you met. Salt of the earth, those folk, and I'm not even a biker.

I left the thread before they started announcin' winners. I am on tape-delay here!

Remind us before you head to Round 2 so we can be praying for ya...
Glad to hear Round 1 went well...

LOL! Ouch!

...I don't want it to sound like I had a totally bad experience, because everyone was very nice. You know...they did say the same thing about Charlie Manson.... Quite a charming fellow, they say!.

Well...had a very successful music night tonight. Lotta people...almost couldn't fit everyone. That's not a bad thing. And I made a big pan o' WN's cornbread, with the heretical yankee addition of a little sugar, since last time I was told it "didn't taste quite right". They liked it this time, though. Only one small wedge left. Guess that'll be my mid-morning snack tomorrow.
Was also informed my chili was something other than chili 'cause it didn't have ground beef or beans. Heh...I'm corrupted, I guess. It was goood, though.
To: Wneighbor
I should hope not...
To: RosieCotton
was something other than chili 'cause it didn't have ground beef or beans. What ~was~ in it if not beef and beans?
To: HairOfTheDog
Regular beef. From the roast. And peppers and onions and such. Normally I would put beans, though I had a friend that considered THAT wrong. I was strapped for time, so I skipped the beans.
Chili is one of the most contraversial of foods, I'm finding!
To: HairOfTheDog
Kinda quiet, kept to himself...
