The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Sweet!

Just got my first call back for a job. The fella I spoke to is clearing his schedule so he can meet with me this afternoon. It's with a local TV station doing internet marketing & sales...which is essentially exactly what I did 2 jobs ago with the web development company. He's going to call me back with the time that he and I can meet today.

Shoot...this could be pretty sweet. Wish me luck!

LOL Corin!

Good morning! - Congratulations to Matthew 2J, I've read up on the boy scout discussion.... think I am up to speed.

Slow start here.... fed ponies at 5:00 but only pulled myself out of bed for good about 20 min ago. Gonna be warm here today.... sunny and 50-something they think. If that happens I will be able to take the ponies' blankets off and let them run naked on the grass.

Oooh...50 something...that'd be nice!

I can't complain, though. It's in the thirties here! Feels downright balmy!

Thanks! I hope it goes well too. Still haven't heard anything about my unemployment benefits, so I still can't plan on that.

It's about 35* here right now, and man, does it feel good! Almost shorts and t-shirt weather! lol

I can't see the stars like I can out at Dad's. There you can see the Milky Way...like see beyond the closest stars and see the misty light of the stars behind them...and behind those...really puts you in awe of the size of the universe Sigh...can't wait for my homestead!

*sigh*

What are we doin' in these towns?

I will be fine as long as no one shakes me up like a soda.

Glad to hear elf-boy is better. And that PE is being taken care of. Now, must try not to shake you up like a soda.... but, I just got this email joke from my uncle!

WASHINGTON, D.C.

Hang on to any of the new State of Texas quarters. If you have them, they may be worth much more than 25 cents.

The U.S. Treasury announced today that it is recalling all of the Texas quarters that are part of its program featuring quarters from each state. "We are recalling all the new Texas quarters that were recently issued, "Treasury Undersecretary Jack Shackleford said Monday.

"This action is being taken after numerous reports that the new quarters will not work in parking meters, toll booths, vending machines, pay phones, or other coin-operated devices."

The quarters were issued in the order in which the various states joined the U.S. and have been a tremendous success among coin collectors worldwide.

"The problem lies in the unique design of the Texas quarter, which was created by a Texas A&M graduate, Shackleford said.

"Apparently, the duct tape holding the two dimes and the nickel together keeps jamming the coin-operated devices.

Didja see this?

I had heard about it on the news down here but I didn't see it till you posted it!!! The picture is still not on Nascar.com that I could see. But, I am not surprised that Bobby Labonte or Interstate would do that. They've got a pretty good reputation for standing up for Christian issues down around these parts.

Been thinkin' since Dale's been gone that I might have to stick with this home state guy and forget about Dale Jr. Old habits die hard though. I still have many of soft spot for Cale Yarborough and Richard Petty too! (Elvis is NOT The King!) LOL

South Park season 1 disc 3 will arrive from Netflix tomorrow. It has the episodes "Mr. Hankey, the Christmas Poo," "Tom's Rhinoplasty," "Mecha-Streisand" and "Cartman's Mom Is a Dirty Slut."

Good afternoon!

Ugh, my test Thursday got put off until next Tuesday. And I'm complaining? Well, it throws a wrench into my carefully-planned week...

I'd be upset, too! If you're just about prepared for something and it gets put off...well...that's frustrating.
