The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I really enjoyed 13th Warrior at Entmoot! I'll have to get that one from Netflix so SSQ can see it.

At some point, I'd like to take a stab at painting the ships leaving the Grey Havens. I like the one by John Howe, that's on my profile page, but think I'd like to try it myself.
It's on my "subjects that I want to paint list," that's in my computer, that I keep adding to.

Don't know what it was about that movie that I liked so much! Violent wimmin is just not a nice thought! :-D I just thought the repartee between Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson was hilarous! And you gotta admit, them bad guys NEEDED killin!

Sam, I think I already have WAY too many hobbies. And mostly, I kinda think that was a kind of therapy that God had for me right at that time of my life. For my part, I think the acceptability of those drawings prolly had a lot to do with my mentor. But, it was really nice looking through them Saturday. I believe those are something I will hang onto for a lifetime.

Can you get your sketches framed? Those might look cool in your new 'library'.

Yah... all is OK for the moment.
No worries...

There is a real nice Grey Havens picture on my profile page, painted by John Howe, who helped with the films.
"They only set out after sundown; but if any keen-eyed observer from that shore had watched one of those ships he might have seen that it never became hull down but dwindled only by distance until it vanished in the twilight: it followed the straight road to the true West and not the bent road of the earth's surface. As it vanished it left the physical world."

Na... I'll just leave 'em in the file folder. There is a lot of hurt associated with them I think. I wanna leave 'em where I can just look at 'em privately on occasion. I just need to *not* forget they are there! LOL

"...never became hull down..."
Interesting. never noticed that before.

I think the main thing I miss by not having cable TV is the History channel. I get really wrapped up in that when I go visit Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Lynn. Uncle Lynn likes it too but he says there are too many reruns. Since I am seldom there it is all new to me. I like it!

Have you ever seen the green flash, Ramius? Yes, as a matter of fact, I have. It does happen.
To: Sam Cree; Ramius
What is "the green flash?"
Okay, you both shoulda known you were gonna have to splain it to me if you mentioned it.
