The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

The intro in this edition had two parts, one of which was about the movie, and the second about him as a kid being into sports and blah blah blah. It was still kinda interesting, so I read it, and am now about to start the real story. Kewl.

We miss them too.

My wife wants me to try taking up the whistle now.

You are probably right and it is JUST some people being pigs, extremely lazy and nasty. It is just a shame that you are the one left to clean it up and wonder what in the world they were thinking and doing.

Did Bill give you his "Sweetones are best whistles" lecture?

Seriesly, they are a fun, inexpensive instrument, and a good way to get into the music. I have a couple, too - they're fun for doodling on while FReeping or otherwise goofin' around on the internet!

Enjoy the story...

Well, I started that running-training program I was talking about last week. First time didn't quite kill me. Quite. Maybe Wednesday's will be better. Ugh, it's twenty degrees and for the first time in months, I'm hot.

When I first started running, I did too much too soon...woke up the day after running when I wasn't ready, and my legs were so stiff I almost fell down getting outta bed.

I went back to a program like you're doing, and it DID get easier. By the end of it I would still be tired after running three miles, but not near death. ;-)

I wish the people with the treadmill would call back!

I'm Googling the brand and it sounds like a pretty good one...so I'm thinking maybe the price was a misprint. Keeping my fingers crossed, though. Maybe it's an older one?

I am thinkin' if the barrel had a lid on it at the buried end it would have collected water.... unless the hole in the top was new from the pony stepping on it recently. It was dry inside. I think it was open to the dirt underneath.

We'll see. I don't wanna get excited until I know the whole story.

I gotta go to play some music in half an hour. Hopin' they call back before that! I suppose I could call again, but...

If this works out, I'd say somebody up there thinks I should get in better shape! ;-)

They called. I can't find much about the model on-line, but it's not a manual and has some decent features.

I'm gonna go look at it - skip music this once. I'll let you know how it turns out!

Oh, I've got my fingers crossed!

I had a nice omelet for dinner. Spicy sausage, loads of cheese, some peppers... later I'll have some low-carb ice cream, though I'm really, really watching them this week. Haven't lost anything in over a week and I'd like to get back in the groove.
