The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

not good to make, um, unstable people think their computer is possessed... Sometimes the best thing to do with a problem is to flush it out into the open for *all* to see.
It would be well documented, too. He would of course have sent several fairly nutty emails to certain people around campus. No doubt about it... it was him... the computer was logged in as him all the time...
That's not EVEN talking about the directory full of pictures that were found on the machine. Not talking about that.
I'm not really an evil person. I just play one on TV.

Well, there's yer problem right there. Hair's tools are all 18V and that's a 14.4V battery.AHHH!!! That explains a lot of the troubles on Wednesday. Ecurbh didn't have enough voltage! :-)

Uh... Hey... that happens to everybody now and then. :-)

Now *that* could help!
I'm running my various computer-cleaning tools... Spybot came up clean earlier today, but Ad-aware's found a bunch of stuff. Mostly cookies, it looks like. Wow, I'm just Miss Efficient tonight!

and I may end up in the hospital --- or the jail. Heavens no... nothing would be found while you were there. That's really the beauty of it. :-)
To: Ramius
Seemed to be a big problem that day.

Yes, I'll tell her, probably she can find out from some of the medical contacts she has.
Right now she's in San Diego, but I'll probably talk to her later.
Is it warming up a little up north?
Going to Syracuse next week.

Aspirin helps me alot when my sinuses give me problems, which they have my whole life. IMO, aspirin is an underated drug.

Actually, you kinda made me think.
Our IT guy is a good friend of mine. Oddly enough he spent the most of the afternoon yesterday hanging out in my lab just BSing. He is a good guy. He and his wife are good friends of mine. I'm thinkin' that if I called him and told him about this problem he might come up with some creative help for me as well. As it was already I was wishing he was still there when all this was going on last night. Uh.... except that I can pretty well guarantee that he woulda been arrested.

Always something of interest in the old stuff somewhere.
I didn't know that my grandfather had made pottery at his little art studio in Bradner Ohio.
Didn't know that until roughly three years ago.
Odd, but typical.
Grandpa didn't speak much about his talents with art.

Is it warming up a little up north? I'm not very far north. But, it's not warming up enough for warm-blooded elves Sam!
