The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

It bothers me only a little that "flylady" is now used as a verb... It bugs me too. However, two large black trash bags full of junk are now gone, another large bag is full of clothes I can't wear, and there are boxes of books ready to go out... I'd keep going but I'm kind of out of boxes and stuff.

You need something stronger and more medicinal that some silly tea. Sorta like the wisdom of Jefferson Airplane: one pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small, but the pills that mother gives you... don't do anything at all. :-)
But then I wasn't talking about pills. That might be misconstrued.

Even rules about coconuts? :-) Especially rules about coconuts.
To: Ramius
Ramius, similarly got the family movies and slides when my father died. You can't really throw them out but...
Some of the stuff you just gotta live with till there is a fire or tornado.

Evenin' folks. I am here.
Just after my last post this afternoon a guy from IT comes in and says "we need to update your software so you can access this database."
"But I don't want to access that database."
Because my system is so slow and it had been a while since I defragged, three hours later he still wasn't done.
But the good news is that the IT guy says he can get a disk that will allow us to bypass the password on J's laptop without reinstalling. Asked if I could just get the disk. "No only IT professionals can get it..."
Went by the gym on the way home. Just finished dinner and put some coffee on. Wife is at the hospital w/Nana. Boys are upstairs hopefully Luke is going to sleep.
Going back now to catch up on the thread.

Re: family videos and stuff,
I am relieved to hear this. Got a stack of that stuff over under my sewing table that came from Grama's - been trying to figure out if I'm weird or something for not knowin' what to do with it.

I think I'm going to ask my father to take me to "Passion". He's planning to go and I sure as shootin' don't want to go alone. I'm thinking I very much want to go alone.

"No only IT professionals can get it..." Ooooh! He's a Gate Keeper.
To: Corin Stormhands
Don'tcha just hate those IT people? Bastards all. :-)
I know what disk he's talking about. It's probably "NT KEY" and no... I wouldn't let it out of my grimy paws either. Dangerous little sucker, that.
To: HairOfTheDog
No... a KEY MASTER. Different, but related idea.
To: Ramius
I wouldn't let it out of my grimy paws either.Mmmm.... control issues...

Does Corin have to wrestle him, or anything like that, to get the magic disk?
Ha! Got about 40 books here that I will honestly never read again. Now I gotta decide what to do with them... there's another, oh, 25 on my shelves that I'm going to donate to the family because other people ought to read them...

"Give us the gate key!"
"I have no gate key."
"Fezzik, tear his arms off."
"Oh, you mean ~this~ gate key?"
