The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Buckwheat pillows are filled with buckwheat hulls. They are very 'formable', and you can nest your head right in them, but once it's nested, it stays. Check them out

Of course you wouldn't do that!
Hey - Have you ever heard of a very small native weasel in these parts? - ecurbh and I just saw a very small weasel-ferret type animal attacking a bunny. (thought it was a chipmunk it was so small)
I have never seen such a critter, was about to look it up. Wonder if it is an exotic pet that escaped rather than a native species.
To: SuziQ
Yes, I saw it yesterday. I don't have a link to it, though.

Hello! Good-bye!

I would imagine Big Froggie is doing just fine at the park a left him in!
Never a dull moment around here!
I don't think that weasel is native here, there are none like it listed under native weasels. I think it might be a "Least Weasel", native to the Rockies - 8 inches long head to tail... tiny guy.
~least weasel: smallest of the three species, smallest of n.a. carnivores, 20 cm (8 in) long
~least weasel: voracious feeders, often consume half their weights in rodents each day
It would have killed the rabbit if we hadn't interrupted it, and the rabbit was an adult bunny 4X his size. Had him in a head lock. Might have already injured him too much, but the rabbit was able to run off. I always feel conflicted at those moments. They both have to eat. The weasel was not afraid of us at all.... kept coming back up to look, only mildly afraid of Gidget just ten feet away through the fence. That is why I think it was a pet maybe. Or desperate.

My favorite members of the weasel family are ferrets, otters, skunks, and wolverines! I especially like wolverines!!
